Possible to disable File >> Save option?

Hi All, Is there any way to completely disable the "Save" option on the File menu? This would force me to either "Save As" or "Save a Copy" which I always, always do, because I don't like accidentally saving over something with something that's new and broken. Maybe the...

FAWM - February Album Writing Month

Hey All, This is my yearly plug for one of my favorite production tools, fawm.org. FAWM = February Album Writing Month - it's a (free) site/community of all kinds of musicians where people from all over the world (literally) get together online to try to write 14 songs in 28 days. It's a super posit...

Re: Ableton not saving recording PROBLEM

Hey All,

Happened to me for the first time tonight after updating to 10.1.30 (I'd been running a version from November 2019 until tonight).

In my case, I had to just click on the Back To Arrangement button to allow me to save.

hth!

Cheers,

Re: Import multiple audio files to separate tracks?

It actually doesn't work on a PC either (9.1.1 Suite).

I had to use Ctrl-drag.

Re: Ableton 9.1 Dual Monitor Support + more

I posted in the Get Satisfaction forums that without dual monitor support, I wouldn't buy.

Well, slap my ass and call me Sally. Gonna plunk down for it tonight!!!

Problem solved!

Hi All, I figured it out. It turned out that this may have been a real out-of-memory error. Even though Live and Reason are only showing about a gig of memory usage in the Task Manager between the two, I suspect that Reason may be trying to reserve a lot more memory to work with. So what I did was e...

Re: ReWire Reason 6.5 with Live 8.3.3 on Win XP 32-bit???

Thanks for the reply! Reason never actually starts, I just get the dreaded error message as stated above, and then nothing. I can see the Reason executable start up in my Windows Task Manager, but then after I click OK (the only button on the error pop-up), it disappears from the task manager. FWIW,...

ReWire Reason 6.5 with Live 8.3.3 on Win XP 32-bit???

Hi All, My workaround to this point has been to just use Reason on its own, or to just not use it altogether (more common). I just reinstalled Reason as 32-bit per the ReadMe.pdf file that comes with Reason 6.5, but it didn't fix the issue. Reason will always be my first love, and it would be great ...

Yeah I'm thinking those encoders aren't just one trick ponies. I'm anticipating being able to configure them pretty much any way I need to.

Re: Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!

....uhhh....vst is almost gone.... What?! Gotta disagree on this one. That's like saying hardware is outdated, so why use it? let's keep it simple for now......push is so fresh and you guys want it to be THE solution for ALL already? No. I just want something that will allow me to ditch the mouse a...

Re: Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!

Push is primarily focused to work with Ableton devices, it's what we have the most control over and the most knowledge of. But I can't argue with you on this, we could do much better with VST integration in Live in general. Your list is a great summary of our deficiencies, and noted. While I unders...

Re: mp3 or wav

WAV doesn't make sense for distribution. If you want to offer lossless, use something like FLAC. Also, you should at least learn the basics of these formats before doing anything. I suggest hydrogenaudio.org as one of the places with relevant information. Learning the basics = good point. However, ...
