Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO
Just another vote saying I'd really like a PDF manual too. In case this is having any effect!

"Berlin-school" ambient produced with Scheme for Max
Hi colleagues, I'm pleased to share the first (pre)-release of my music made with Scheme for Max. The sequencing and arranging is entirely done with step sequencers and algorithmic sequencers I developed in s7 Scheme, and run from Max for Live using my Scheme For Max external for Max. Scheme for Max...

Re: “Classic“ CV Style Sequencer max for Live
I would stay that this is the kind of thing you might want to build yourself. I do this a lot with my project, Scheme for Max.

Re: Recording live instruments?
Thanks. Is there a way to trim the samples to cut off count in and such like?

Recording live instruments?
Is there a decent way to use Note to record ideas from a live instrument? I'd love to be able to use it to record bass lines played (with an electric bass) over the metronome and then be able to import those into desktop where I rerecord. I'm curious if anyone is doing this and how they are managing...

Midi out from a Max audio instrument?
Hi, can anyone tell me if the (newish) midi routing facilities mean that is is possible for me to send midi out to particular from device from a M4L device that is an audio instrument? (Suffice it to say I have unavoidable reasons this needs to be an audio instrument for CV output). I am hoping to a...

Mapping from *track* input to macro controls?
Hello, I would like to control device macros from *track input*. I am wondering if this is possible, rather than having to map with the standard midi map functionality which means the macro is hard mapped to one particular input device, channel, and CC. The use case is that I have midi CC messages c...

Re: Non-video resources on learning Live deeply?
@Tarekith - stuff like the articles on your blog! Bookmarking it to come back to. A man after my own heart. I've written a bunch of tutorial material on my Scheme for Max project, so appreciate the work that goes into it.

Re: Non-video resources on learning Live deeply?
Yes, but I'm hoping this will solicit people sharing resources I don't yet know about. For example, when I first learned Live, I found outside articles on making control surfaces in Python, which isn't in the manual. Or sometimes people have articles on workflows and techniques for achieving certain...

Non-video resources on learning Live deeply?
Hi folks, I'm interested in learning Live more deeply and am looking for non-video format tutorials on advanced topics. Wondering if anyone has suggestions for great sites, resources, articles, books, etc. other than the manual.
thanks

M4L receive midi from specific/many sources
It would be wonderful to be able to receive midi input from multiple input devices in one M4L device, as one can in Max. Perhaps a new midi object that receives all midi input and we can then filter it out or something like that. (Output would be great too, but it's input that drives me a bit nuts r...

Re: Brainstorming what can I do with M4L?
If you're a pro programmer, you might be interested in my project, Scheme for Max. It puts an s7 scheme interpreter in Max, and runs in the high priority thread so you can build sequencers or generative music tools with it, or automate the live API from code (or even from your editor!). There's a yo...

Hacking Ableton Live in Lisp with Scheme for Max (youtube)
Hi everyone, I have now put a video on installing Scheme for Max in Max for Live. This covers getting it installed and going, for Max for Live users who don't necessarily own or have experience with standalone Max. https://youtu.be/nXZLevkXsdY There is also an installation thread on the forum where ...

Hacking Ableton Live in Lisp with Scheme for Max (youtube)
Hi friends, I have just put a video introduction to hacking in Ableton Live in Lisp with Scheme for Max. Scheme for Max is a free and open-source extension to Max/MSP that enables you to script and live-code Max and Max for Live using s7 Scheme Lisp. You can use s4m for live-coding, building sequenc...
