You Just Might Be Dreaming -- a pop song

You Just Might Be Dreaming is my new pop song. It's about stuff you encounter when dreaming, and usually ONLY when dreaming. (And yes, that "You wear the cheese ..." line is a deliberate nod to BtVS .) If you feel like remixing it, the whole darned Ableton project plus lyric sheet, etc. is that 200...

Orchestral sounds, just to prove I could.

Yeah, it's obvious arpeggiator flogging, but it was done live with one keyboard.

Algorithmic composition: The extreme cases.

This grabbed hold of my imagination. (Yes, I know it's intended as a joke.) http://25.media.tumblr.com/dee58dff1550f4f42eb1e4abcda35f95/tumblr_mlggpog7am1r0wqrdo1_500.jpg Wow, programming that would be my idea of a fun project, if I was back in school. I imagine sliders to adjust for dimensions of t...

Hey, Brits! Dick Cheney's attending Thatcher's funeral!

I mention this because it's your opportunity to arrest him for war crimes!

Re: Max for Live requests - what would you like to see?

For decades I've longed for a software apeggiator that does what the Emax did in 1987. I'm talking about its "cruise control" mode. Basically, if you held two keys down, it would play an arpeggio of half notes. If you held four keys down, you'd get quarter notes. If you held seven keys down, you'd g...

Re: EDM Producer Challenge - Win a slot at 9 Summer Festivals

It would be better if the subject line was literally true: "Win a slot at 9 Summer Festivals."

You could go to any that were close enough*, and choose others to sub for you at the remote ones.

* For certain values of "close enough."

Re: Is anybody else having trouble with credit card transactions

Okay, I called my bank and they didn't trust a charge from Berlin. Now it's hunky dory, or some other early Bowie album.

So: Never mind.

Is anybody else having trouble with credit card transactions

Anybody else getting The financial institution has declined the transaction. Please check the data you have entered. ?? I had never run into this "Verified by Visa" password stuff. Sounds shady, but I jumped through the hoops. Perhaps my bank doesn't trust Ableton itself? After this bit, I can't bla...

Re: Ableton Web Shop is DEAD!

Hmmm ... I wonder if there's a business that could be built around providing temporary additional capacity for sites that expect to experience a spike in user activity (like a new software release, for instance.)

Re: March the 5th!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've been able to add it to a cart, and I've seen the "Add a box" option, and it all looks okay as far as costing what I expected, even if/when sales tax is added. I backed out of the transaction, since this is the wrong computer (and os), but I'm looking forward to getting home, placing the o...

I guess this would be the thread to post to, if I wanted some experienced people to break my sudden infatuation with the QuNeo thingie:

(I've only seen the videos, and I like the price.)

Re: "Box sold separately." How's that work, with an upgrade?

I just got an answer on such question. It seems that there won't be BOXED VERSIONS but separate boxes w/ installer DVDs and the manual. Unlike Live 8, there isn't any additional Live Library Content in the box anymore. The 8 Box was 34 Euros. New prices aren't out yet. Let's see if I'm jumping to t...

"Box sold separately." How's that work, with an upgrade?

I'll be wanting to upgrade to Live 9 Suite, but I'd also like the box.

Among other things, I like having a physical manual around.

So how would this work? Pay, download and pay a bit more for the box, in the same session?

What's the price on the box?

Re: How to loop MIDI arpeggiator live after recording ?

I'm tempted to say Loop isn't quite the right tool for this. I think Ableton is fast enough to let you record a clip and pretty quickly let that clip start playing so you can overdub. Let's say you have two MIDI tracks feeding into the track that holds the arpeggiator. You record the clip of your ch...
