Tempo/bpm in thousdanths

Guys,

for the 1st time ever I have to deal with something with a tempo in the thousandths: 180.109

as far as i can tell, there is no way to do this and have it match to the grid.

Is that really true?

Re: Choice of CPU for new computer

In general, If you have more channels with smaller effect chains on each channel, it will be more advantageous to have more cores. If you have fewer channels but each channel has lots of plugins, then you will be better off with a higher clockspeed per core. There's also a myriad of other bottleneck...

Re: Audio latency in heavy sessions

the bottleneck here with what you describe isn't so much the interface but more the CPU stuff. like TLW said mastering processors or other plugins can add a lot of latency that isn't related to buffer size. if you use delay compensation then the latency of your entire session is time compensated by ...

Re: Thoughts quality of Ableton FX? Workflow question.

I think the Ableton sounds and effects are timeless, precise sounds that you can absolutely make great tunes with.

I think having plugins and synths and stuff is just all about different flavors. Sometimes you reach for one thing, sometimes you reach for something else.

Re: Stems in Ableton

I would not normalize stems, this will not preserve the volume relationship between different channels and instead turn up each stem so that it is as loud as possible without clipping. The scenario you describe could happen under many circumstances, such as: -- There is processing on the master. -- ...

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

there are a number of changes in the thermal system behavior in the 16" macbook pro compared to previous generations. The fans spin up much more quickly and also pre-emptively especially with applications that use the GPU. The previous gen with the butterfly keyboards overheated a lot and as a resul...

Re: Auditing The Dependencies of an Ableton Project

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you need but you can see a list of all external files used in a Set with File Manager. View > File Manager > External Files > Show Files from Elsewhere.

You can use Collect All and Save to copy all external files into the project folder the Set is contained in.

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

I am puzzled why this is a concern?

Seems like normal behavior? The noise?

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

I believe what you describe is normal behavior. Are you concerned about the noise? You can use Intel Power Gadget to monitor your CPU use and CPU temperature. Also, the 2019 macbook pro has bigger fans and fans up more quickly so the CPU can run at higher clockspeeds for longer. I had both 2015 and ...

Re: Russian balalaika

So funny, I have a balalaika and was recording it today for the first time. Sounded really cool

Mine is all steel, incidentally, haha ! I wonder what it would sound like if there were nylon ones as well as you describe

I believe you can setup different sample triggers in the Zone tab in Sampler.

Re: Latency bad after Catalina/Live 10 upgrade

there's so many reasons this might be occurring.

Is Delay compensation on?
buffer size?
Is there latency in other DAWs?
Does it occur in an empty session?
