Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

Yep all 3 were bad, according the to retailer all MBP 16" with Intel i9 behave the same way. I do void the factory warranty if I open this puppy for cleaning every 2 weeks and disassemble it, right ? no, you do not void the warranty by opening the computer and cleaning it. was the room warm? not qu...

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

Clean it ? After 2 Weeks of use ? I had 3 exchange devices, ALL with the same temp. behaviour ! Brand new, out of the box ! No "cleaning" needed. I called the Apple Support several times (4-6 times), had a "personal" 2nd Level guy, which I could email my data, Apple recorded 2x my temp.-telematics,...

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

I feel like I'm missing something with this thread but please enlighten me because the thermal performance of the 16" macbook pro is something I follow very closely. These computers run screaming hot and yes indeed, the fans have to work very hard. That was not exactly the point and dust in a 3 wee...

Re: Something is automated but I'm not sure what.

Oh okay fair enough, something weird was happening with the clip playback not being in time with the audio, and I thought that was it. turned out to be the delay optimization was messing it up, but this is good to know.Does Ableton by any chance have a way of giving you a list of everything that ha...

I don't really look under the hood that much anymore with max4live but I can say that the Convolution Reverb is as good as any fancy, expensive convolution plugin out there. Amazing

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton

I feel like I'm missing something with this thread but please enlighten me because the thermal performance of the 16" macbook pro is something I follow very closely. Was the cpu getting throttled when this fan noise was occurring? If not, it seems like normal behavior to me. :?: :?: :?: These comput...

I just wanna say if you include the M4L Convolution Reverb as a native plugin that is an absolutely amazing reverb.

And this is a Tarekith appreciation thread now

Re: Plugin Delay Compensation problem

unfortunately many plugins introduce latency the way you describe. VintageWarmer is one of them. decreasing the buffer size will improve overall latency, but will of course not eliminate the latency introduced by plugins VintgeWarmer is a high latency plugin for sure, so unfortunately not a good cho...

Tempo/bpm in thousdanths

Guys,

for the 1st time ever I have to deal with something with a tempo in the thousandths: 180.109

as far as i can tell, there is no way to do this and have it match to the grid.

Is that really true?

Re: Choice of CPU for new computer

In general, If you have more channels with smaller effect chains on each channel, it will be more advantageous to have more cores. If you have fewer channels but each channel has lots of plugins, then you will be better off with a higher clockspeed per core. There's also a myriad of other bottleneck...

Re: Audio latency in heavy sessions

the bottleneck here with what you describe isn't so much the interface but more the CPU stuff. like TLW said mastering processors or other plugins can add a lot of latency that isn't related to buffer size. if you use delay compensation then the latency of your entire session is time compensated by ...

Re: Thoughts quality of Ableton FX? Workflow question.

I think the Ableton sounds and effects are timeless, precise sounds that you can absolutely make great tunes with.

I think having plugins and synths and stuff is just all about different flavors. Sometimes you reach for one thing, sometimes you reach for something else.
