Re: MP3 "...may be corrupt or not licensed"

I solved the immediate problem by getting .wav files from my collaborator. I think I'll get Mountain Lion when it comes out and install Live 8.3.1 and see if that fixes it. Thanks for all the suggestions. :D

Re: MP3 "...may be corrupt or not licensed"

Why don't you try converting it to an AIF or WAV in iTunes and importing that? At least that way you'll know if the problem is with Ableton or with the mp3 Tried this but the options to export as a new format in iTunes are grayed out. The MP3s play just fine in iTunes so I don't think they're corru...

Re: MP3 "...may be corrupt or not licensed"

could it be that they're not licensed? No. I've had a legit license since Live 4. not Live. the mp3 files. digital rights. some downloads can only be played on iTunes, Windows Media player, Amazon Cloud player etc. The files were not downloads. They were created by a musical collaborator of mine on...

My disk is nowhere near full. Cleaned up the cache but that didn't help.

Looks to be Windows only. I thought perhaps Quicktime could do something similar but apparently not. Looking for something on the Mac side that can do this.

Re: MP3 "...may be corrupt or not licensed"

Just tested on some MP3s I created myself with Sample Manager. Those won't import either.

I just ran Software Update on my Mac. No new Quicktime was detected or installed. According to Apple support I've got the latest version. Still no joy importing these MP3s to Live.

MP3 "...may be corrupt or not licensed"

I'm trying to drop some MP3s of original material created by a friend onto a Live track and I get "...may be corrupt or not licensed." The files play in iTunes so I know they're not corrupt. WTF I can't use MP3s of original material created by somebody I know? Any way around this?

Random key dropouts in Collision

I'm experiencing random keys dropping out when using Collision (8.0.5, Windows XP SP3, M-Audio Axiom 25). A key will just go dead for a while and them come back to life after a minute or two. This doesn't happen with any other Live native instruments and I'm pretty certain there's nothing wrong with...

Re: Laptops vs. desktops

Seriously, RICOH is a really poor FW chipset and even though your EchoFire is working, it would probably work much better under a TI chipset - problem - you can't really replace this because it's likely that your whole PCI Expresscard/Firewire/SD card etc is on one integrated circuit, so even if yo...

Re: Laptops vs. desktops

Based on what I'm reading in these posts it seems like I should be getting better performance. Can somebody give me some tips on how to test my system performance with Live to determine where I'm coming up short?

Thanks,
Phil

Re: Laptops vs. desktops

what firewire chipset is the Lenovo running ? Look in Control Panel Device Manager IEEE1394 - it is probably Ricoh, Via, Agere or O2, or 'generic' - if it is TI that explains why it's running better, but a TI chipset runs better than any of the ones mentioned before - significantly better in some c...
