So I do not really use plugin mode - I do ableton mode and there were no problems there.

You can achieve the same thing by creating a rack and then mapping your plugin Param's to the eight knobs in the rack (macro parameters). This is the way it works for me and I am sure the knobs were controlling the right track. Also be sure you do not have the thing called "lock to control surf...

I also find out that if windows have the high DPI/large fonts option, then all controls behave very dodgy when controlled with the mouse.
