A DI box would do the trick, though to maintain stereo image you need two and then have the problem of getting the outputs down to a single 1/8" jack.

Some mixers (like mackie 1202) have a little button next to the main out to choose between mic and line levels, maybe you could beg or borrow one?

Well, I do seem to have a problem. Just bought a Macbook Pro, unlocked Live, plugged in my presonus firepod, and configured my ins and outs. Suddenly my CPU metre leapt up and started jigging around the 50% mark, while Live did NOTHING! no audio, no samples, nothing.

I took off the stereo inputs ...

Multitrack recording

Why can i only record into a single channel of live (5) at any one time? Is the app actually that limited? Surely not. This has always bugged me about Live but now I really want to be able to lay down multitrack mixes in real time, be able to fiddle with/replay individual tracks later.

There must ...

Macbooks, Live 5 and plugins

I am currently running Live 5 on my G4 desktop, but thinking of getting a Macbook laptop in the near future. I have heard the Macbooks do not use VST format for plugins but have switched to RTAS, while Live 5 only supports VST and AU.

Has this issue been ironed out? Do I need to upgrade to Live 6 ...
