We've always connected Ethernet cables to a common router.
Id be interested if any one could verify that a single ethernet cable directly connected between two computers will sync midi?

Re: ipad with audio interface AND midi controller
We do improv Glitch Music on Twitch and have a day for only android & iOS devices. With the iPhone 6s I use the apple usb3 dongle with a Quneo midi controller and it does not need a powered hub. Neither does the Qunexus controller. Most other USB MIDI controllers that I have used draw too much p...

Re: External clock deactivates all Latency offset functions ?!
Maybe I'm confused by your question, but might I ask how would Ableton communicate this latency back up the midi cable to the Beatstep? The Beatstep cannot see into the future to delay itself from playing after you press play. Your asking ableton to delay certain tracks so all tracks are aligned. If...

Re: Zooming with STC?
There should be a track select control cc that allows for a fader or knob to scroll across and select tracks.
When you say zoom to you mean 'jump by 8' or something like that?

Re: Unwarped audio changes length in different BPMs(arrangement)
One could try to remove as much silence and unnecessary words as possible from the speech clip when working in the faster parts of the arrangement. That'd be my approach to a workaround. Possible FYI...You can extend out the clip edge to re-expose the ends of the clips audio wave, once it has been m...

Re: APC 40 MKI Knobs Jitter and Throw is too long after update
Well if Ableton makes an update that breaks a previously functioning liscensed product by Akai, who'd you say is at fault? Arsenal is cool n all, but it's missin some basic functions and ergonomics to be comparable to replacing a workin Apc or push with dedicated illuminated buttons, knobs and labels.

Re: Launchpad95: Instrument, Scales, Step Sequencer, Device Ctrl
When using the step sequencer mode I get unwanted glitches in the audio when entering notes into the sequence. Sometimes I get the same audio glitches when switching modes.

Re: strange behavior with Lives' control surface preferences
Can you remove the problem script in question out of the scripts folder? (& Into another folder in another place) I only leave the scripts I use in the scripts folder. Testing previously I discovered Ableton appears to decompile every script (in that script folder, not just the ones selected) at...

Don't forget about the scripts you'll need to code in python to get your DIY controller to communicate with ableton.

Re: Driver Error Compensation: A question about stability
I use a program called K10stat to 'undervolt'/'overclock' my processor. I found a chart online with the most efficient a stable speeds for my particular quad core processor. Generally processors will shift into different speeds (much like a car transmission) depending on the processor load. Set all ...

Re: how many control surface slots would you need?
If your using two slots to aim two controllers at the same script, you can merge their midi data streams (I use Copperlan Midi Routing Software) into 1 virtual midi cable, and select that virtual midi cable as the input for the control script, thus opening a control script slot for another purpose.
