Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Hi, Yes, I'm all for PAT in Ableton as well, as I'll be receiving a VAXMidi soon: http://vaxmidi.com/index.html. Though (I'm assuming) I can record PAT audio tracks into Ableton, correct? For Seaboard Rise users, have you checked out this video? I don't have one, but maybe it can help -- https://su...

Re: Follow actions for scenes

I just found this thread - I have recently been starting to use follow actions on clips, which is a really great feature of Live. I do a lot of my work using scenes rather than launching individual clips and I to think it would be brilliant if Live had follow actions for the scene launch buttons, so...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

This thread and MPE requests have not been ignored, Ableton is aware there is high demand for this feature. Thanks Erik, I do appreciate your response here. I think this may be the first response I've seen that has any "official" presence about it. I can't imagine that the developers at Abeton alon...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

9.7 is out and it seems to help make Touchable 3 more stable - it was a crashfest with 9.6.2 and became unusable - now with 9.7, it seems pretty stable again. So I can see that the developers are faithful to the goal of making the software stable and usable, which is no small task with the number of...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

And here we are - 9.7 is in beta and NO mention of much beyond additional features for PUSH, which does support Poly Pressure, but regardless, no mention of poly unless I'm missing something. I'm really wondering what exactly is the real stop on this? This is SUCH an old thread and SO many hardware ...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Thanks Erik, I appreciate your assurances regarding this. I'm being a "squeaky wheel" because I figure it might influence priority in regard to this particular feature request, and also to remind Ableton that other alternatives exist out there and that competition can be a bitch. However, I also wan...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Still looking to see if any other users want to jump in to support this feature request - it's seen a lot of views over the last couple of years and is being tiresomely ignored by the developers, which is really strange to me since there are now at least a half dozen synths or midi controllers that ...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Still holding out for Ableton to allow pass-through of polypressure. I use Ableton now daily as a performance rig for my polyAT supporting keyboard, which I CANNOT use to it's full potential with a large number of my software synths because Live filters out the Po;y AT data. C'mon Ableton. This is b...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Saw several newer midi controllers at NAMM - POLY PRESSURE is here to stay and is getting more and more widely supported, especially including the LaunchPad Pro, which has really cool implementation. There is a "critical mass" going on here. Ableton, please hear your users on this one - POLY Pressur...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

The CME Xkey series of keyboards also support poly aftertouch: http://www.cme-pro.com/ I demoed these at the 2015 NAMM show and they are really smooth to play, very portable and you slide your fingers up and down the keys to execute poly AT, the same way the keyboards in Garage Band work. These are ...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

Just a little more on why this issue is important to performers: 1. iPads and newer "flat" keyboards that are readily available (and very inexpensive) support poly pressure or poly-aftertouch. There are LOTS of examples. 2. Pretty much all the Arturia soft synths support poly aftertouch - if you eng...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

I would like to refresh this thread. I just "enjoyed" once again, the fact that Live filters out poly pressure messages, so I can't play any instrument in live and use poly aftertouch. I can totally use it in Mainstage, or in Pro Tools. Pro Tools records aftertouch but you can only edit in event mod...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch

I spoke to the developers of Bitwig at the NAMM show. I got a look at the current version (which will be released in March 2014) and they already have several "lanes" of automation that will work with Poly AT when it is implemented. I put my two cents in with them that they are "this close" to fully...
