Re: Why Upgrading to Live 8 is a Waste of Money

This rant is stupid even to someone who agrees to a point. There was nothing for me in the latest Live update. Well maybe with the exception of max msp integration. However, I feel like I can currently do anything I want with the standalone version of Max 5. To Ableton's credit, all updates were com...

OT: Ipod ripper

What is a good open source software that will allow me to salvage some tunes off of an old broken ipod? I love how Apple makes this so difficult.

I think it's clear that this is just a joke. Getting upset about this is exactly what this guy wants. A $5 practical joke isn't too expensive I guess.

Mixed feelings about Cycling dropping Pluggo

I've been using Max for about 2 and half years now and I am still learning new things and enjoying the direction it takes my music. However, even though I never really have developed plugins for other daws( I use logic and live) I am dissappointed about Cycling 74's decision to drop pluggo in favor ...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

I'm far more interested in spending my money on synthesizers or guitars instead of cheap plastic toys that still keep me glued to the computer. That's a little unfair to the APC 40, however, a variety of controllers usb'd up to a computer could be just as powerful, as well as being velocity sensiti...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

I'm willing to bet that the Abes spent time with the maschine and really worked against its weaknesses. APC40 offers nothing that Maschine does while Maschine does offer a clip matrix controller mode for Live like APC40. If I wanted something like the maschine I would just get an MPC. Can you launc...

Re: Arturia MiniMoog now requires a dongle

Sorry about the dongle scare folks. I just successfully updated to the new version using the digital syncrosoft license system. I have to say that the new vocal filter is incredible. I was a little worried that this update would be an even heavier cpu eater but that wasn't the case. I don't really s...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

gotcha. I glossed over the haters, could it be more obvious that people are complaining about something they don't have a f-ing clue about? it's not out yet, it could very well change. Akai and Ableton have the upper hand, they get to study the competition for a while before releasing their product...

Re: Arturia MiniMoog now requires a dongle

I own the V-Collection and therefore always needed the dongle. I didn't know that the minimoog plugin V1 doesn't need the dongle (are you sure?!?). Yea I've had my license now for a couple of years and all I needed was the serial and startup disc to use minimoog v1. Maybe arturia started doing this...

Arturia MiniMoog now requires a dongle

I just tried to download my free update for the minimoog 2.0 and I discovered that I need to buy a syncrosoft key to upgrade. I've been happy with arturia's minimoog for a while now and was only curious about the new update. All new features just take this soft synth way beyond what it was ever inte...

Re: suite 8 is sluggish

For the time being I have no intent to upgrade. I'm going back to using live for just audio. I don't have the best machine these days and I think that Live has simply surpassed a few of us as of late.

Re: FM Hardware vs FM Software- Got an Opinion?

i owned a dx7 for 10 years i love the dx sound sold my dx7 after fm7 came out fm7 is better I would rather have a DX 7 keyboard than a bloated softsynth that inspires nothing. Programming a DX 7 without an editor can be a fun and shitty experience all at the same time. The DX 7 is still a good keyb...

Re: OT: I totally want a mopho

Once I polish my engineering skills a bit more, I want to design a simple monophonic midicontrolled synth kind of like this for under $200. As cheap as the DS Mopho is, I think that it is now possible to offer an even cheaper analog synth. The problem is I'm no Dave Smith. Dave Smith has always been...
