Re: Which new MacBook Pro to get
There is currently a compatibility issue with 10.7.4, 2012 Macbook Pro and USB 2.0 sound interfaces. There are a couple work arounds: 1. The non-retina version come with 10.7.3 which works fine with USB 2.0 sound interfaces 2. Using KEXT Wizard, some have been able to "downgrade" the 10.7....

I don't think that is the case.
USB 3.0 should be backwards compatible but they are not fully there yet.
Hopefully apple is motivated to fix this.

Re: New MBP Retina? USB 3.0 Ports and USB 2.0 Devices...
I only have the KR3 but the symptom seems to be similar across many devices...distorted output.
The big thing for me is that I believe the issue is not hardware related as the 10.7.3 OS works.

New 2012 MacBooks (USB3) and NI Kontrol Rig 3
TEMPORARY SOLUTION OK, after much troubleshooting, I determined that the issue related to my Kontrol Rig 3 was 10.7.4 and not the USB 3.0 hardware. I determined this by restoring my 2012 MBP to 10.7.3. After the downgrade the KR3 worked perfectly (it appears). So DO NOT INSTALL 10.7.4 or the Macbook...

I have the new 2012 macbook pro 13" and NI's Kontrol Rig 3 does not work with the USB 3.0 ports. Only produces static.

Re: Amount of time to install 8.0.5
I did not have any 8.0.5 betas installed. And the only three updates applied were latin percussion, live 8 library and live 8 lessons...
Not sure how long it took as I went to bed after two hours and it was done in the morning...
Luckily this only needs to be done once!

Amount of time to install 8.0.5
I have Live 8 suite with the EIC and session drums installed in the library. The live 8 libary update that is applied as part of 8.0.5 is taking literaly hours to complete. Is anyone else experiencing similar results?
Thanks,
Curt

You guys crack me up. You complain when the software doesn't work. You complain when testing is thorough. Ableton can't win.

Re: Where can I find EIC instruments?
Like UKRuss said... take each ALP file on the EIC DVD and drag and drop on Live. Do this for each ALP (or you can select and drop multiple files at one time) and the EIC will be installed. You will then have all of the EIC presets and clips available. It will take some time and disk space so be pati...

Re: Where can I find EIC instruments?
You should have two DVDs, one contains the multi-mic drums and the other contains the kits...the live packs on these two DVDs must be installed the same way you install other live packs (drag them onto an open Live session) As the last poster said, this is assuming you are licensed for the EIC. Re: Where can I find EIC instruments?
I don't have Ableton in front of me but changing the library path most likely rebuild your library and therefore corrected any issues with the presets missing... Have you installed all of the EIC? Session Drums spans two DVDs and must be installed seperate from Live...

Re: Where can I find EIC instruments?
Something is not setup correctly as you should have several presets under the Instrument Rack... You should double check that the EIC live packs are installed which can be done under preference/library.

Look in the faq or search the board...I think you just need to copy the unlock file to the new users profile...
