installing a user template for APC40 mk2
Hello all, So I recently bought Will Marshall's sought-after DJ template for the Akai APC40 mk2. I'm having quite a difficult time getting it to work. So far I have some of the knobs over the top controlling effects, but that's not reflected on the screen. More than that, nothing has changed about t...

Re: using 64 bit plugins in Live 9 from Live 8 32 bit
Everything you buy from NI is available for download in your user account including Komplete Ultimate if you want to spend a week downloading it. Nice -- It's been a while since I've logged on to my account over there. Would that also mean I can redownload those as 64 bit? Maybe the issue would be ...

Re: using 64 bit plugins in Live 9 from Live 8 32 bit
That's really helpful. I appreciate it! One question - Would keeping it 32 bit impede using all of APC40's capabilities in Live 9, as it "works" as a midi controller with lower versions but only has full functionality with Ableton 9 (and would the 64 bit requirement be part of that)? I kno...

using 64 bit plugins in Live 9 from Live 8 32 bit
What is the best way to overcome Ableton 9's requirement that all plugins be 64 bit when I've got many 32 bit plugins I've been using in Live 8? I mean.. is it just a given that I will lose all of the free plugins I had downloaded years ago and somehow have to reinstall the ones I've paid for, track...

Yes, make that "automation," not "automapping." You can tell what's on my mind here..Chris Paget wrote:Wow, that is very surprising that automapping is not possible. Seems like it would be a huge asset for the program.

Re: Creating clips that retain live tweaking for playback
Wow, that is very surprising that automapping is not possible. Seems like it would be a huge asset for the program. Unfortunately you can't really record automation directly into clips, but you can record MIDI CC messages into them. So if you map a MIDI knob to a LFO in a plugin (not an Ableton plug...

Creating clips that retain live tweaking for playback
This may seem like a real basic question, but can't quite get it working. Here's the deal: I'm used to just recording notes, beats, etc, to create clips, but what if I want to do some real-time tweaking within the plugins and have that be retained in the playback of each clip? From my experience, wh...

Re: ASIO issue - no audio
There is a red X to the PC Speakers output in the hardware settings for Asio, so I'm 99% sure that has something to do with it. I haven't been able to find out what's causing it though as I have all outputs enabled in Ableton, but haven't checked to see whether a player might be open in the browser....

Re: ASIO issue - no audio
Okay- I'll try to give a better idea of what I'm using. I have a Sigma Tel soundcard as best I can tell. After reinstalling ASIO, I'm getting levels visually but no sound. One thing I see is when I go the asio's hardware setup tab within Ableton, output for the PC speakers is disabled (literally say...

Need smaller intervals between beats for quicker high hat
OK, so I'm making a pretty generic techno beat and I want to put some quicker high hat stuff in there. Right now, I've got a straight 16th note line with the high hat, but want to add some quicker "trills" in spots, but these 1/16 notes are the quickest Ableton will let me go now. How do I...

Re: ASIO issue - no audio
Thanks a lot for your replies. I tried re-installing ASIO, but still nothing, although DirectX is still working with the eventual latency issues. Audio Out is going to master, and both Cue Outs are set to the 1/2 channel setting. I'm running this on a 3-4 yr old PC using Ableton 7, but it has worked...
