Re: Tunes dropping on the off beat when DJing in Live..any ideas

Maybe a dumb question, but is the start point on the first beat of a bar?

Re: Live 8.1.4 is released

Yay to 200MB installers! Are ableton_suite_814_program_only.dmg and ableton_live_814_program_only.dmg the same other than by filename?

Re: 8.1.3 changelog and download problems

For a good download manager, try DownThemAll. It's a Firefox extension that's free and works on Mac/Linux/Windows.

Edit: although I can't say if the download would fail when using it as I'm mid way through the process.

Re: Library Not found in Log.txt

Thanks for that. As you didn't get these errors, I just decided I would try move the library location to a temp one and then back. It has stopped them completely now! However I do still get some exceptions straight away when starting up. I get this followed by stack trace things: 5 ms. Directory: sE...

Library Not found in Log.txt

Hello I was just looking through my Log.txt (about a different issue), and noticed that I have the following line in it followed by a load of exceptions: 2811 ms. Exception: The folder “/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Library” was not found. It seems to occur every time I start L...

Re: combining v7 library into new v8 library?

Whilst I'm not sure, I personally would open up a view of each library in the explorer 1 and 2 buttons on the left. Then just drag and drop the custom stuff from your 7 library over to your 8 library. Hope that's some help although I realise it's not quite what you were looking for.

Upgrading Live 8 to Suite 8

Hello I have just downloaded the Suite 8 installer, but it doesn't seem to have installed any new content. Whilst waiting for the download I activated the Suite 8 products and they all showed up with presets etc. I also installed the Drum Machines pack whilst waiting for the download to finish. Then...

Buffer Shuffler + Beat Repeat Bug

Hello I have just discovered a _really_ weird bug. If you set up a loop on a channel, put a buffer shuffler onto the channel, and then put a beat repeat on the master channel, it doesn't always work as expected. Enable Repeat on the beat repeat and then turn off the effect. Now on the buffer shuffle...

Re: anyone else having Alchemy crash Live 8.1 on startup?

Yay it worked for me too! Except I was having a problem with Massive, FM8 and Absynth. I then tried removing another already working plugin and restarting and then putting it back in. And live crashed upon seeing that again. I guess there must just be a bug in the new VST scanning on load in 8.1? Di...

I can't see how that would work as wouldn't that just trigger the sounds on moving the pedal? Effectively I just want the state of the pedal to define which sound is chosen when i hit the hi hat pad.

Hi Thanks for the suggestion. However I wasn't meaning a choke. What I meant was if I have a pedal sending a midi cc for open/closed, can I set up a hi hat pad in the drum rack that will play one sound on an open pedal and another on a closed. And maybe even another when actually closing the pedal? ...

Drum rack hi hat pedal

Hi

I was reading up on session drums and in the blurb it mentions the possibility of using a hi hat pedal for open/closed hats. I was just wondering how I would go about setting up the same feature in my own kits, as I cant seem to work it out or see anything obvious.

Many thanks
