when djing with live how do i stop the effects sucking away volume from the main mix?
the effects work ok but seem to reduce the volume of the main mix at the same time.

Re: mixing ambient of chill with beatless intros using live
Maybe there's a different solution, but the stuttering sounds like a bug... trouble is toggling warp causes the audio to stutter briefly. :? Does toggling warp on a clip that's not playing causes audio on all tracks to stutter? Does it still stutter when you set the audio buffer to a high value? Wh...

mixing ambient of chill with beatless intros using live
here's one ive never managed to figure out. if i'm mixing ambient or downtempo stuff sometime i beatmatch but often i don't want to. for example i might be playing a dub track at 68bpm...then want to mix in a psybient track at 89 bpm which has a long beatless intro. in a chill mix the jump in bpm is...

Re: how can i 'undo' my own warp changes to a track?
just to be clear...this question pertains to a track that's been saved after manipulation

how can i 'undo' my own warp changes to a track?
i'm still making the transition to 8 after years of using 6 and basically botched the warping of a few tracks. so my problem is i'd like to reset my manipulation of the warp markers on these tracks and start over. trouble is in live 8 if i delete warp markets the waveform for the track stays put. ho...

Possible to make tiny Tempo changes without SHIFT + ARROW?
during my mixing i like to make small tempo changes, but if i assign tempo to a controller dial Live will only give me tempo_range / 127 resolution, which will usually results in 1 bpm jumps - far too harsh. i realise i can tighten the tempo range but i like to move over a vast BPM when i perform. w...

+1
I use Live 6 and it does everything i need. I will not be impressed if Ableton drop support for it with Snow Leopard.

Why no info on Live 6 and Snow Leopard?
I am perfectly happy with the features of Live 6 but would like to move over to Snow Leopard.
I hope Ableton does the right thing and supports Live 6 under Snow Leopard. I've heard Live 6 suffers frequent random crashes at the moment.

guys, just a follow up post, have spoken to deadmau5's agent, steve hogan and he was very concerned about how this thread escalated. he had no problem with me using ableton in the first place as long as the set-ups were kept apart. there was obviously some miscommunication going on somewhere. i'm so...

guys, it's sorted. the bpm restrictions still stand but an extra ableton rig is now allowed as long as the set-up is kept well clear of deadmau5's rig and sfx unit. seems like crossed wires with agent and manager. his agent was still not happy about extra set-up but caved in when persuaded the set-u...

wow....looks like ive started something here. i totally appreciate everyone's support but it wasn't my intention to start a mud slinging fest. guys, let me post back when my m8 gets a response from the agent today, asking them to compromise. if they are insistent i can't use ableton i think i will g...

thanks for the support guys...one of the other dj's has sent an email cc'ing the agent and manager for an explanation and to see if they will compromise. i'll know by tomorrow what they say but as of now the restriction stays....so here i am rendering all my ableton edits to aiff format for the cdj'...

ever been banned from using ableton?
here's the story: i won a mix contest recently for a slot supporting a night in the uk with deadmau5 headlining. fantastic i thought and started preparing my set for the big night...until tonight when the manager of the club informs me that deadmau5's agent won't allow any other ableton set-up on th...
