This issue is a real pain and has prevented me from using Live 8 with Win 7. I have run DPC latency checker and when these crashes occur there is no evidence of audio dropout. There is also no evidence that any one plug-in is causing the crash as the various sets I have tried loading will load fine ...

Here's a fix to stop the CPU load meter fluctuating wildly when using Live 8 under Windows 7 -
