NI Molekular. You can throw any synth in this multi-FX. With Metaverb set to biggest size and all those spectral effects you automatically generate drones/ambient-style music.

What about OhmStudio? I don´t use it but I like the other stuff from OhmForce.

I´m using ESET NODE32 for all my computers, for my music laptop as well. Its low on CPU-ressources and I never had any issues the last 4 years. I switched from free Avira/G Data which both made a lot of problems.

I get 40ms delay with my old Yamaha rm1x thru a NI audio interface and I coulnd´t optimize it at all.

Freeze single tracks and you may identify problematic plugins

Install freeware LatencyMon.
Deactivate drivers you don´t need for you work with ableton, esp. LAN, WiFi and Bluetooth.

That was the problem with my last laptop. My current laptop also had those crackling problems I solved with updating the driver for my soundcard.

it´s unlikely a problem with your OS, do you use the same Version of Live?

Are you up-to-date with your audio nterface drivers? I got a lot of cpu-peaks with my NI-Interface (Komplete Audio 6) which where caused by an old driver. After updating it runs really smoooooth.

As already said, it could be plug-in related. Some plug-ins, esp. convolution reverbs oder spektral effects, have a higher latency.

I would definitely switch to Live 64bit.

You have such a powerful PC and still use Live 32bit?

Maybe I didn't fully understand the M4L Step Sequencer but I only can trigger notes and not the filter with this device?!

I´m using Ableton Live Suite 9.50.
Is it possible to control the autofilter frequency by a step sequencer and not via automation?
I managed to do this with Oscillot but I would prefer to have the the filter-data visible without the need to open an editor.

I liked the Computer Music magazine LIVE special, which is available via appstore, extremely useful although I would rank myself as an medium experienced user.
