Yes, it has been requested many times before, and is in my opinion the single most important feature that is missing in Live.
I'm puzzled why it hasn't been in Live since version 1..
cheers, Morten

I remember when I posted about it someone suggested that i assign midi notes to clips and use a single midi track to sequence out an arrangement. Everything in effect would be like a ghost clip with the arrangement triggering the master clip. Interesting workaround but obviously not what we really ...

I agree, this is THE single most important feature to get in Live. Buying Live 6 and installing it I was VERY surprised to not find this feature, as I regard it one of THE most fundamental features in a sequencer / song arranger. I simply can't use Live for any serious composition work, without this...

Clip reference
I wish it was possible to copy a clip from session view to arrangement view, as a reference, and not a direct copy. You know, so that when I make a change back in session view it is also changed in the arrangement. Same as in Fruity Loops for instance... You just make a change to a pattern in the pa...

Imagine if PhotoShop could not render your work in .jpeg format. You could only get .bmp and .tga format, so you would have to take your bitmaps through a 3rd party converter to get final jpegs... That would be a pain in the ass, right? Does it matter how easy it is to download an image-converter fr...

There are many good reasons why someone would want an mp3 of their work, instead of aiff or wav. Personally I like to send work-in-progress versions to friends over email or messenger to get their feedback, hence a smaller filesize is ideal. Look at FL Studio where mp3 export is integrated - I use i...

I'm using a MacBook too, and as one of the previous posters suggest: Auto Pan works reasonably well for ducking a baseline to a 4/4 kick, though it is a bit of a silly work-around. The real problem is that Compresor II doesn't have a side-chain, which is quite an important feature for most electroni...

Yes, there are some workarounds.. I could create one super drumloop, and repeat that for the whole song, and with automation turn up/down the volumen of certain parts, to get the breaks and fills I wanted... Or, I could seperate the individual drums (kick, snare, claps, hithat, etc) into seperate tr...

Ok, so it is not just me... ;) Funny... I bought Live 6, expecting it would be miles ahead of FruityLoops, but what a disappointment. At least for what I want to do, which is compose electronic music. Sure it has some nice features for performing on stage, and jamming in Session View, and getting in...

Thanks. The thing is, I want to alternate between my 4 drumloop variations (midi clips), to make the song more interesting, and not just loop the same clip throughout the song. My first drumloop is the basic beat, and the three others are almost the same, but with slight variations. (e.g. extra snar...
