Re: Follow Action Time Mayhem.. help!!!

Agreed. I love Follow Actions but they are a little awkward to use, and their interface is overdue for an update!

Issue Scanning External-HD Places in Live 10.1.5?

Hi all, I just upgraded to 10, and I am having some issue with Ableton scanning Places at inopportune times and slowing down my whole computer (2015 macbook pro). Also, sometimes often after a while of this endless scanning, I'll get the "external disk not ejected properly" message (even w...

Looping without Warp, with pitch change

Howdy all I have sort of a weird question here - how can I seamlessly loop a clip (in Session view) that is not warped and shouldn't be quantized? To be more specific - I want to have a mangled drum track for an experimental improv piece. I want to play an audio file of a long drum solo but be able ...

Remix something different: Industrial Jazz Group

Hey all, I think this if the forum for this (if not my apologies) - my west coast buddies The Industrial Jazz Group are having a remix contest . They cite their primary influences as Frank Zappa and Duke Ellington, so I thought the board might be interested because the material is pretty different f...

The Risks of Bouncing Down w/VolumeNormalization?

I don't have live in front of me so I may be getting the terms wroooong, but...this thread (http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=96809) got me thinking about the effects of "normalizing" the audio when you render audio to wav. Usually when I turn this option off, it just doesn't re...

People have suggested to me to run kick and bass both through the same compressor, then solo them and *remove* the lowest frequencies. Keep inching it up until it affects the sound in a way you don't like. Counterintuitive, but there's a lot of "mud" down there sometimes.

How are you entering the note? When you a hit a key in MIDI, MIDI tells the synth 1) what note you hit and 2) how hard you hit it (and later 3) when you let go of the note) But if you have a controller with MIDI aftertouch (hold down the key, then press harder), it'll send a message saying "now...

I have a similar problem, but I don't get a blip, I get no sound at all on the first note. I think it's because Ableton records the MIDI note but somehow identifies it as starting before the downbeat (even if you started recording right on the downbeat). So the "note on" message gets muffl...

I was told this wasn't possible, but your workarounds sound pretty good - if you get either of these to work could I trouble you to drop me a line?

Fuzz+ is free, easy, and doesn't require you to get up out of your chair (because that's really a pretty big factor in our decisions, isn't it? ) "Just concentrate on not making the lazy move." I've gotten "dirt" via Fuzz+, VST vinyl simulators, overdriving a boom box, tiny...

Dr Electro sounded a bit too much like a crap superhero Ha ha, fair enough! :D Yeah, watching the video I was thinking that I may use it to make drones not unlike those in the video! I play 100% improvised music on piano and I'm trying to incorporate my laptop into the mix. Some wicked drones like ...

Looks like fun - if it's for electro bass & leads, why is it called "Drone" though? Not trying to be confrontational - Just had to ask, though, because "drone" and "electro" are very far apart from each other in my book :D Gonna download it tomorrow, the video had s...
