Re: Euclidean Rhythm Generator

I'm not sure if the created midi is in sync with Live? Would it be possible to export the patches as midifiles or even drag+drop into a midiclip?
Of course it is! Primarily the device is thought as a real-time tool like an instrument. And as such it is in synch! And the produced events are ...

Dynamic / density control. A musical approach...

... to be applied to pre-existing note patterns.

So happy, it works!!! I have been always wondering if there is a simple algorithmic way to control musical parameters on pre-existing note patterns. Then during my work on the Euclidean Rhythm Generator I had the idea to try the Euclidean approach to ...

Re: M4L virtual Midi Controller?

I'm about to release a little tool that does what you are looking for. 8 mappable knobs generate assignable MIDI CC events. Stay tuned!

Re: Euclidean Rhythm Generator

This is awesome! Great work!

Thanks, I'm already completing a new feature:

Control of 'density' and 'dynamic' by means of a controller - local and MIDI (modulation wheel). It has been rather complex to figure out the algorithms.
- Not a stupid interpolation of preset-parameters, which creates ...

Re: Euclidean Rhythm Generator

I couldn't get it to work in max 5 for live. I had a go at altering the maxpat header in notepad... But 0 success. Dissappointing but predictable I suppose. Is there a way to create a max 5 compatable version?

Really sorry! Did you get some Error Message? I do not have a max 5 environment at my ...

Re: 'Caution' dropouts and crashes with preset object in M4L!

The first thing coming to my mind is: why would you want to use the preset object in M4l in the first place?

Normally Live itself will take care of presets; its also why you'd want to use Live objects in a M4l patch so that their settings can be stored; either in the liveset itself or as a single ...

Don't think so, because undo is working flawlessly with and without the preset object. And, the number of stored ui objects managed by life has not changed.

'Caution' dropouts and crashes with preset object in M4L!

During the development of my last MIDI device I experienced huge problems with lags in visualization and audio dropouts. The device is a pure MIDI processor, no Audio, no externals. It uses the preset object in conjunction with the pattrstorage object, working perfectly with Live's Preset and Live ...

Euclidean Rhythm Generator

Proudly announcing my Euclidean Rhythm Generator! Inspired by the paper 'The Euclidean Algorithm Generates Traditional Musical Rhythms' by Godfried Toussaint. Already existing MFL devices I found on the Web did not satisfy my needs (broken basic algorithm, missing some features I needed, incomplete ...
