Re: Live 9 Suite Upgrade Price Drop FINALLY

My pre-order upgrade price was originally $207. Then they upped it to $300-ish due to their pricing "error". Now it's $399.

I'm not doing it. Too expensive.

I have an old 2.x license for Reason that I can upgrade to 6.5 for $169. That's a very fair upgrade price.

Re: Post your Live 9 upgrade path and price

I currently have a Live 7 license. My current upgrade prices are: $112 - Live 8 standard $239 - Live 8 Boxed $307 - Suite 8 standard $359 - Suite 8 Boxed My original offer was $201 for Suite 8, I should have bought it on the first day. :( I did open a support case with Ableton, I got the generic &qu...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

My upgrade price from 7 to Suite 9 went from $224 to $307 since yesterday. My offer for Push + upgrade to Suite 9 is $948 (minus the $599 cost of the push) puts the software upgrade worth $349. Some points for you Ableton: 1) You're not going to make owners who spent big dollars on Suite 8 + max hap...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

In my case, I feel like the upgrade pricing is very fair. I own 7 (skipped 8 entirely) and I'm offered a $224 upgrade to Suite 8 + free upgrade to Suite 9. This seems entirely reasonable to me.

I am curious as to what my upgrade price to 9 will be if I wait until release.

Lots of guitar gear I wish I had never sold. The big two are: 1964 Fender Champ amp. Absolutely perfect condition, even had the manual tucked in the back. I was an idiot and sold this for $100 in my early 20s. So dumb. Mesa Boogie Studio .22. I don't even remember why I sold this amp, it was awesome...

My cats dig music. They like to rock the vinyl, and stand on top of the powered sub.

I'll certainly take a look at it because I love some of Audio Damage's other stuff -- Dubstation and BIGSEQ for sure. Question about this type of "randomization" tool: How do you use it, and others like it, as an effect? If you set it up and hit play, do you always get the exact same seque...

There were definitely some glitches upgrading NI VSTs. i think they've all since been worked out, but you'll definitely want to check on versions and upgrades from NI and make sure you're current before you test. +1 on making a clone of your system and testing the upgrade on the clone before you go ...

Tools are just tools. What the article is saying is that you can spend so much time learning about the tools that you don't have time to make music. I spent plenty of wasted time learning about Cubase, then Logic, now Ableton Live. I'm sticking with Live, because even with its limitations, it's easy...

I don't see what the big deal is. You get the deal you paid for at the time you paid for it. I was all ready to buy an upgrade from LE for $299. I had been wanting to do this for months. When I finally decided to do it, the price had gone up to $349. Kinda bugged me, but oh well, I waited too long, ...

m-audio fw410 I know a lot of people hate this interface, but mine has been great. YES, the drivers were shit. They finally seem to have got that fixed. 4 years after it was released though. YES it acts odd at times -- but never if you actually shut down your computer, then put the FW410 in, then s...

Get a keyboard cover in case of spills. But don't be puttin' drinks next to your laptop!

As for memory, don't cheap out and get 1GB. Get 2GB, minimum. 4 gigs right now is less than $100.

OS X will defrag in the background as necessary. Just leaving your machine on when you're not using it should be enough. That being said -- I'd be wary of running a Live setup with anything less than 10-15% of your disk space free. You don't say how big your drive is, so I can't say if 10 gigs free ...
