Lil Wayne's album was VERY disappointing.

He does have talent, but I was completely un-impressed by this album.

A much better "Gangsta" album that came out recently is Bun-B , II Trill.

Make sure the timing isn't too rigid, but not too sloppy either.

Make sure there's lots of velocity variation on drums that fire more rapidly (like hi hats, rolled snares, tablas, etc.)

Wow. Timbaland is a legend. He has made more certified club bangers than anyone on the planet in the last ten or eleven years. He has an instantly recognizable sound - which is hard to say for most electronic producers. His sound has literally made stars out of unknown artists - Missy, Aaliyah, Ginu...

My list of great "Gangsta Rappers"...

By great I mean, undeniable/unshakable confidence, underground and pop sensibiity, way above average lyrical wordplay, and good taste in beats.

Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Young Jeezy (sometimes), Twista, Nas, T.I., Cassidy, Old NWA,

Korg Legacy Digital - Problem with Presets

Hey, I really hope someone here can help me?

I'm using the Wavestation from Korg Legacy Digital. But whenever I stop the track and play it again, the preset that I have chosen goes back to the first default preset. This is really annoying -

Has anyone else experienced this?

outboard gear???

Hey guys, I'm thinking of purchasing an outboard compressor. What's the best way to incorporate it into my current setup with Live? Do I just route an output from my interface to the comp and then back into an input?

check the folder preferences and try making sure that the folder you're saving to isn't "read only"

Well I might be new to the Ableton forum but I'm hardly a newbie so you don't have to worry about that.

I still have reason on my machine (yes I actually paid for it) - so it's definitely still at my fingertips. I just found myself not using it at all anymore. I think my vst's sound better than reason instruments and the GURU drum machine in my opinion is superior to redurm. I make mostly hip-hop (sam...
