i've tried turning off the audio device and stil no joy

right ive just rendered a 4 minute track and theres a section in it where the CPU lags a bit, probably due to the VST im using (Dominator).
i can deal with it glitching in playback, but it's fouling the finalised WAV aswell....not happy.
Anyone know what im talking about or have any suggestions ...
