i like the vcm-600 from vestax. if you're used to mix on a hardware dj-mixer this one comes closest to it.

Re: Why should I use Live 8 on stage?

Re: quick message about disappointment

hey sdfak1234, i'm not gonna blame anything of your setup. even more because at that time you already mentioned that most things were fine with the current beta version. i just wanted to know. seemed slightly like if you had something to hide as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. such probl...

Re: quick message about disappointment

hi sdfak1234, what really makes me wonder is why you didn't tell us the details of your setup yet. all the other Live users could benefit from this information. but if it's all the same to you by now why do you keep on making posts about it? i'd really be interested in your hard and software setup. ...

Re: ever try writing songs on a small PA as apposed to monitors?

a friend of mine (dj, producer and label owner) told me a little PA is essential for comparing own productions to other high quality productions and to have a more club like sound. his mons are Genelec 8240. he own's a HK Audio but said right now he would get a 'LD Systems Dave' 10 (444€) or 12 (659...

Re: [IYO] Is there a right or wrong way to 'DJ' with Live?

I have been building a new template since getting the VCM600 ... hey alex, cool to see someone that has a vcm-600 (and writes about it). i love mine as well and did a lot of customizing with bome's midi translator. best controller to perform if you were used to use a traditional dj mixer. btw, here...

Re: [vid] very interesting indeed :))

"ear not gear" absolutely. it all boils down to this. and about song structure (of club tracks) .. if you are or were a (good) dj or even if you're really into the music when dancing to it .. then this souldn't be a problem. you just feel when certain events need to happen. for me it all started wit...

Re: Session Drums, does anyone understand them?

it would be very interesting what procedure Ableton officially recommends for this. the hotswap isn't working properly (at least for SD or LP). the manual misses detailed information and examples on how to build your own drum kit (e.g. with SessionDrums or LatinPercussion). so Ableton, what do you r...

Re: DJ with Turntables or Controllers for gigs?

I did this manually in my BCR, just set the buttons onto momentary and it worked like a dream :) it's cool to have some kind of configuration software for a controller :) vcm-600 leaves you alone in this respect and just sends out and receives midi note and cc data in a predefined way. but it's sim...

Re: DJ with Turntables or Controllers for gigs?

Jeezus monomes. You gonna get one of the old 40s to complement that setup? =D i once wanted to buy a 40h kit but i wasn't fast enouhg ordering ;) BCR2000 is the way forward on that one, I have mine mapped to the EQs on the first 4 channels that I use for clips, and the second set of knobs set to va...
