Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch
A little less hyperbole please. You can count the number of controllers that support poly AT on one hand. Until a couple years ago, nobody had bothered building one for more than a decade, and the ones now being made mostly cost upwards of a couple grand. Per-note automation didn't exist until Cubas...

Re: Push Chord Patterns
You can't find C5 because it's not there, the range is about 3 1/2 octaves. I'm sure there will be some kind of option for transposing up or down an octave, just like on most MIDI keyboards, or obviously it's easy enough with Ableton's built-in MIDI devices too. After D#4 is exactly what you'd expec...

Re: Push Chord Patterns
For fluid playing you'll also want to memorize and get comfortable with the alternate chord shapes. You'll hit the edges as you move around (if you set up your preferred iPad app or launchpad with the same 8x8 pitch layout and start practicing you will run into this). Of course it may also just be a...

Re: JazzMutant - Lemur
Having used both the Lemur and a variety of ipad apps including Control extensively, I can safely say that the Lemur is still orders of magnitude better than all of them (despite having its share of problems). I don't expect it to remain that way forever, but I have been a little surprised at how lo...

Re: Most Underated Ableton Plugin/Tool
But it would be an enhancement just as you said and as I originally suggested, right? Rome wasn't built in a day. You completely missed his point. People are using Live instead of Reaper or Cubase or Logic or what have you because it has a small, well-chosen feature set. Well, you can argue about h...

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
If people are interested we can copy the received messages to another port to enable you to listen to them while running touchAble. Any thoughts / wishes on this? For me it's ok how it is, LiveOSC can be installed or I can mod this in myself, I just wanted to use it if it was already there. My main...

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
Since touchable uses liveosc, can I send messages to liveosc with something else or will it interfere? What port is it on?

Except for commercial music that is sold mostly on image, your age doesn't particularly matter, it's half skill, half marketing, and half luck.

Re: intel i5 750 cpu good for ableton or i7?
Hyperthreading on older intel cpus caused a lot of compatibility problems.
Then intel ditched the hyperthreading idea for a while, before bringing it back recently in the i7. The new implementation is much better and shouldn't cause any issues, but tech support has to err on the side of caution...

Re: Let's do it all over again - Best external software Synth?
ACE but don't listen to me, just download the demo and dial up some sounds. It sounds good even on typical softsynth sounds, then it can do many audiorate things that others can't handle. FWIW I dislike Zebra. Synthsquad for basically the same reasons as ACE. Massive is also high quality but mention...

They would have to redo the entire interface for it to be at all useful so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Akai has been doing this stupid shit with endless encoders that don't work like endless encoders since they released the MPD24, they love it this way for whatever reason. I wouldn't hold your breath for it to change.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Have you ever used other velocity sensitive pads? All of them offer quite poor control over dynamics relative to any kind of real percussion or even decent synth keyboards. If a high quality drum pad unit is what you want then you are stuck with some e-drums or zendrums, both of which are bulky and ...
