Re: Changing lengths of notes on a midi track

Under the 'Notes' section of the MIDI editor there are two buttons. One to cut the time in half and one to increase the duration by two. I think if you select the latter it will do what you have described.

Re: Leonard Cohen R.I.P.

If I remember right, Suzanne was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. RIP Mr. Cohen you brought a lot of joy to a lot of people.

Based on my experience: it runs just fine, very stable.

Re: Does a reliable audio interface really exist?

Loves me my RME Fireface UFX. :)

Absolutely flawless as long as I've had it. All the others I've owned (M-Audio, Tascam, Focusrite) I've had issues with.

Re: Expectations of reality a disappointment?

I tried to be a writer at one point in my life. I was kind of disappointed as the reality of it didn't meet my expectations (i.e. I really sucked but didn't want to.)

Re: Rookie, please help.

None of the above for the proscribed task. If on a Mac I'd go Logic or Studio One; if on a PC I'd go Studio One. Ableton is not the greatest at linear recording (IMO) and ProTools is way too expensive. Can't really say about GB or FL as I'm unfamiliar with them.

Re: Third party plugins....

Yes Platinum Bounce is a Maschine expansion. As such it will only be visible inside Maschine. You can of course use the VST of Maschine in Ableton. If you wanted once you had it instantiated you could pull the audio or MIDI out of a given Platinum Bounce project and set it up in Ableton without Masc...

Re: Guitar looping with Ableton 9 Suite and APC40?

This guy shows some interesting looping techniques using clips. The video is about 18 minutes long but worth the listen I think.

Re: Any problem updating to Win10?

I held off for quite a while and finally pulled the trigger several months ago. I've had zero problems since the upgrade. System is very stable, as it was before on Win 8.1. YMMV I just did the upgrade rather than a new install...too much stuff to have to reinstall everything. :) Basically you just ...

Re: MIDI Guitar vs Roland GK-3 and Roland GI-20 vs GR-55

I use the Jam Origin MIDI Guitar. I have the Fishman Triple Play but don't care for it. I also have an AXON AX100mkII.

Bang for the buck its Jam Origin's unit that I use...all the time. The FTP is at the bottom of a drawer someplace, the AXON hardly ever gets turned on.
