Re: Sample to FM synths?
You thinking of the resynthesis engine of the Hartmann Neuron? There was actually a vst of that which got made freeware a while back but no support for newer machines IIRC. Anyway, another synth which did something similar was Camel Alchemy but Apple bought them and made it part of Logic so you'll n...

Re: How to remix in Ableton live
Not (usually) possible. The remixers will have been given the individual elements of the song (vocals, bass, drums etc.) as separate audio files, so they don't need to deconstruct it like that. Sometimes songs include an acapella version you can use, or have online remix competitions, and there is a...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)
One more thing Im running into a weird bug with parameter values and pg-8x. When I do a ranged value, it forgets the first value until I leave a bank and come back. It looks like its just a gui bug on the push2, the value is being sent correctly to the vst. Is this plugin specific or all plugins? I...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)
Posted an example for dexed here I think would benefit from my BANKS OF BANKS suggestion from before: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=221580&p=1698612#p1698612 Also I ran out of banks so had to leave some stuff off like Amod Sens. Cool - I would definitely like to implement banks of ...

Re: Ubermap (Alpha, Mac-only): Simple Push parameter remapping
I'm running into a problem while trying to set up a mapping for Diva. I cant get the both ADSRs to show up in the .cfg file. I think it may be because they both have same names for the parameters (Attack 1 AND Attack 2 are both labelled "Attack"). Any help on how i can get both to show up would be ...

Re: Am I going mad?! (scrolling through tracks in Track mode)
Yeah I was wondering what happened here... My arrows are missing too. Even when i scroll to the right with the d-pad the rest of the track don't show up The only way to do it that I can find is to go into Session mode and use the D-pad to move the box that highlights the visible area... so you can ...

Am I going mad?! (scrolling through tracks in Track mode)
I just installed the Live 9.1.2 beta and thought I spotted a bug in the Push mode, in that when I went into Track mode on the display and had more than 8 tracks, there used to be an arrow as the last button to let you scroll left/right (like << or >>) to see more tracks in the same way you can with ...

Yep, that's what I've been using too. Seems to output Python 2.7 code as I describe above, but works well enough

Yep - press "Scales" and then press the button for "In Key" (I think that is what it says) - it'll switch to "Chromatic"

Re: Quick navigation tweaking of Device param, & playing...how?
You can certainly speed up this workflow by holding Track down while you select the track you want, then it'll snap back to Device mode when you let go. You could also use the left/right arrow keys to scroll left/right between your tracks if you position them next to each other. Two other useful thi...

Re: Live 9 MIDI Remote Scripts revealed...
i wonder why uncompyle2 (the python decompyler) produces these raise/assert errors in the decompiled files. I've been doing some work on this recently, the problem is that uncompyle2 is a Python 2.7 program, while Ableton runs Python 2.5 internally... uncompyle2 has the ability to decompile Python ...

Re: push emulation for i-pad
So the way it works is you run Live as normal on your PC/Mac, and then connect the Lemur software to the computer via wi-fi (or there are ways to do it via a cable), and the Lemur software just runs the controller on the iPad, sending and receiving MIDI or OSC messages from the computer. Basically t...

Re: push emulation for i-pad
It's really impressive. Hope Ableton don't mind it existing, for me it's just making me want to save up for Push, definitely can't replace the real thing but gives you a good feel for how it works.

Yeah, I spotted that on the Beta forum and added my voice to the list... not much else we can do for now I guess. Please sort it out Ableton!
