Re: Does using an external audio interface improve CPU?
Hi imagineowl, What buffer size (latency) are you running? What instruments/plugins are you using that causes your system to falter with 5 tracks? With a MBP Retina + SSD + 8GB you should be getting MUCH MUCH better performance, regardless of the audio hardware. Something's seriously not right here...

Does using an external audio interface improve CPU?
Does it really make a difference? Performance wise, is there something that audio interface does better than the built in one? Does Firewire, USB 3.0, thunderboldt effect anything? I'm not really recording more producing using synths and plugins. I get dropouts 4-5 instruments deep and have to const...

Re: Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
Great idea. And it also won't take forever to open since it stays within the project.
I wonder if it could be done without using a lot more resources?

Re: Live dropouts at the exact same spot!
If I edit the arrangement while I have the limiter on Ozone, especially deleting or adding time, it seems like Ozone does handle it very well. The only way I can describe it...It's like it doesn't empty out the cache correctly. All I have to do is create a new instance of Ozone and it works fine.

Re: live 9 trial hangs...not opening
So guess it doesn't matter what version you have, if you have auto-update on it will still update and cause Live not to open. I just downloaded the original 9.0.1 (even tho I was on 9.0.1), and installed it. Everything worked. Just make sure you go to preferences and turn off "Get software upda...

Yess, same here. Everything was running great yesterday, opened up today and it just bounces. I see it in my Activity monitor. Restarted...nothing Tried deleting the preferences file....nothing. Updated to 9.0.2...it's still doing the same thing. Help! Are you getting Live to actually open though? ...

Re: Live dropouts at the exact same spot!
I have a 15" Retina too with no probs like that. I was going to ask what audio card you're using, but since you say it actually exports with the dropouts, I'd rule the card out. Do you have any automation running or master or track in question at the dropout location? What version of Live are ...

Re: Duplicate Time causes a pause or dropout
Found a work-around:
I just create a new file and through the file browser, import all the clips in arrangement from the previous set, and the dropouts disappear for good. Still can't use duplicate time or create time.

Re: Macbook Pro Retina Temperatures
I have the same machine. It usually gets about the same temperature for me too. I even took it in to apple so they could run a diagnostic, and everything was good. One employee said, they dont call them "laptops" no more because they get too hot.

Live9. No Undo or Redo? Greyed out.
Sometimes I get no undo or redo's. No particular times. Seems random. Ideas?

Live dropouts at the exact same spot!
The moment I duplicate time or create time, in any file new or old, plugins or no plugins. It dropsout out where ever I created it. I even deleted everything and put a simple loop over where I "duplicated time" and still drops out! BUG? It'll play perfectly fine, then right before the spot...
