What tone61 said. That was the "gateway drug" that got me in to Live 6 and from there, to Live 8 Suite and finally Live 9 Suite.

I have three controllers - a small iRig Keys in front of the Mac, APC40 off to one side, and a Novation Impulse 61 to my right. I use the iRig Keys to demo sounds when I'm working on synth patches and play the Novation when recording.

Also, the Ultranova can't really make any sounds that you can't get out of Analog or Operator in Live, whereas the Blofeld has a different sound, so you will get something else. I needed to double check, and mine is a 7200 RPM drive. Irrelevant as the samples are kept on the 5400 RPM drive in any case. Put enough RAM in your Mac and it won't matter what the spin speed of your hard drive is, as Kontakt will play the samples from RAM. I have 16 GB in my iMac.

Warp is lightyears ahead of what it was back in the Sonic Foundry Acid 1.0 days, but sure, it only does so much. It's one feature of Live I rarely, if ever use.

I use an APC40 and a Novation Impulse - APC is set up as a control surface and the Novation does Automap. No conflicts - if I'm facing my desk, I use the APC; if I'm playing keys, I control from the Novation.

Being able to make Rex loops in Reason, and Live now has Rex support... I could see this being useful. (I have 6.5 already - they'll probably get my money, just like NI will for Komplete 9.)
