your second option is what i want to do, because i don't want to capture everything from teh master just this midi channel but i'm not seeing a way to set it to just the midi track, i see resample, ext in, and FL studio, no choice to select a midi track alone.

any advice?

i've learned a bit more.....when i set monitor to off, the crackling doesn't persist, when its on auto or on it persists. i've also turned off my speakers to make sure its not a feedback loop or something but the issues persists with speakers on or off, so it seems to be internal.

I'm wondering if its possible to route the sound coming from a midi channel in live to a audio channel where i can record that sound as a clip.

seems like this could save a bit of cpu when playing live, going directly to an audio clip to loop a melody i play rather than having the vsti continue to ...

btw when i record in other apps, for example sound forge, i don't have this problem so it seems to be specifically with ableton.

i've tried both my sure sm58 and my apex 435 condensor mic to record in audio. i've tried recording harmonica and a recorder but with both instruments and both mics i get this strange crackling in random parts of each clip. any ideas what might cause this?

Does anyone know if its possible to retain all midi assignments when you drag a set you have made into another set? I have all my songs as individual set files so i can build up a set before my show of different tunes each time but its a pain to have to reassign the midi controls to certian clips ...

anyone care to give a bit more advice on this topic of a very simple midi pedal.

Let's make sure you are selecting the right driver first:

1. Go to Option/Preferences
2. Choose ASIO as Driver Type
3. Choose MOTU Audio as Audio Device
4. Click on Output Config and highlight all output pairs (i.e. 1/2, 3/4 and etc...)
5. Turn ON the Test Tone option to verify all ...

so i exchanged my unit for another one and its still doing the same thing...works fine in all modes but MOTU ASIO.

check your ASIO configuration and make sure you open the ASIO panel and have MOTU "main outs" box "checked" as an output...

sounds like a similar issue to mine....when i use DX drivers its really crackling in both abelton and FL studio. when i try the motu asio driver (which is what i want to use) i get no audio at all except out of the headphone jack. i have sent an email to tech support this morning, we'll see what ...

i just got an ultralite and for some reason when i turn on the asio drivers i get NO audio out of my speakers but can still hear audio out of the headphones jack. any ideas? anyone had this problem?
