Hey all!
Weird issue.
Using midi to control external synths.
Played in notes using controller.
Plays back fine UNTIL i change the notes on Live i.e quantise or move them around.
Similarly when i enter in notes with the mouse they won't playback!?
Any thoughts?

Converting bit depth/sample rate when rendering
Hi guys,
I am rendering a project for mixing (all stems individually) and have a couple questions. Apologies in advance for the noobness coming.
Unfortunately some sounds were recorded at 44k and some at 48k. If i render the whole project at 44k should that sound fine? Live says it will render ...

Problems with Live registering MIDI devices (APC, PUSH etC)
Hey guys,
Out of nowhere i seem to be having trouble with live registering my MIdi devices.
For example the Push and Apc40 will only be recognised by live if they are plugged in a turned on when live is started.
If i plug them in when live is running it doesn't seem to recognise them and i need ...

Arpegiator with Kontact Concert Harp issues
Has anyone tried using the Ableton Live Arpegiator with Kontact's concert harp?
Whenever i do it sounds BEAUTIFUL but quickly makes the Kontact plug in switch into different modes, eventually playing minor mode or glissando which i do not want at all.
Anyone else experienced this issue/figured any ...

Why are all rendered stems more than a collect all and save?
When my friend collects all and saves a set to send his vocal stems to me, it is only about 100 - 200 meg.
Yet when he renders all tracks, as stems, it's much larger, like 2 gigs or so.
Why the size difference? Are the same files, quality getting exported?
Thanks
xx

Re: USING ABLETON IN A LIVE ENVIRONMENT
How does it sound on a pair of monitors at home?
You could split the outs from live into different channels from your Scarlett (say bass, drums, vox, rest) and send that to the desk for a post EQ to help fit the room, which helps for me.
But other than that if it sounds good at home on decent ...

Drum machines, worth it?
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a drum machine to add to my gear. I really want to get that analogue sizzle that i hear on records where people use analogue drum machines.
Other than the usability, Is it worth forking out a bit for? do you think it can all be achieved with samples, drum racks ...

Re: SSD with Live
my understanding is that there's not a lot of point using an SSD for recording/streaming audio. No appreciable speed increase. Unreliable (especially when twinned with TRIM)

I'm looking into getting a Samsung 840 500GB SSD 2.5" for my Mac. I want to put my OS, Live and my working and live (performance) Live projects (with samples) on there.

Suggestions for live, onstage mixer?
My electronic live band uses two computers with live vocals and sax.
We use a mixer on stage to rout separate channels. Currently Stereo mix (beats, bass, synths - computer A) and Vocals and sax on one each (via computer B) and output them into a stereo out.
We want to add more feeds (ie wet vox ...
