Re: any good tutorials on linear work flow using session view?
You can just stick to Arrange if that’s what you’re more comfortable with. Think of Arrange as a painting you want to work on and Session as your sketch pad and also your palette. Session is where you cook up ideas before moving to Arrange to build the song. It’s just easier doing it in Session onc...

plug in which shows which notes are being pressed as played?
saw a plug in being used in a synth tutorial video which sat on the device side (not piano roll side), which looks like a keyboard and just shows which notes are being pressed in real time. Any one know the name of this? Bought a push and still getting my head around the layout for keys so this plug...

How Anal are you with key in production...
Good evening, Curious as to how anal people are when it comes to key... e.g i'm writing a track in e minor, bass line, kick etc all in key, but i have a synth 1 shot i've pulled from a loop and it sounds rubbish when transposed down from F to f sharp. As it's taken from a loop i dont think i have an...

Re: using VST synth pre sets - frowned upon? - production etique
Thanks everyone for the replies Lots to think about. I love sound design but just very restricted on time, so using a pre set is of course easier. I can knock up things in operator but just dont have time to learn how to use extensive range of VSTs, or max programming for that matter. What i'm getti...

using VST synth pre sets - frowned upon? - production etique
Hi - wondered what the consensus is on using pre sets in Kontakt, Cakewalk, etc... I.e is it deemed lazy/sloppy to use these pre sets in tracks, and really that one should be programming synth parameters themselves?
production etiquette I guess!
Thanks

to (too) much exaggerated high end and for me they lot (let) background noise in when using on trains etc Strange. They're HUGELY popular with DJs, studios and broadcasters such as the BBC because of their excellent sound quality and their high sound isolation. Must be your ears! it could be,...

Re: Beyer head phones - home use
It's good you've already got Sennheisers, because you can get replacement parts for them. It's often the cable which needs replacing when you experience intermittent sound, and that would be much cheaper than buying a new pair. thanks, but dont rate the HD25's, to much exaggerated high end and for ...

Beyer head phones - home use
hi, decided on geting some beyer's. Searched through tons of threads here and gear sluts and cant make my mind up which to go for. would be for home use only, wearing probably for about an hour a day on average, producing house/garage. My budget is about £300/$500. I live in central London and the g...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
In the UK cheapest way for a new user to buy looks like buying a push separately from a reseller, and then suite 8 plus free upgrade to suite 9 direct from ableton. would come in at £749 however the suite 9 package plus push is £815 at resellers, so it's a small saving. Is there any disadvantage tha...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
Hi, I'm left utterly confused re. Pricing. I will be a brand new Ableton user and want to buy live 9 and push, but right now Ableton can't give me a straight answer as to which way is cheapest. I see 2 routes... 1. Buy live 8 now on sale with free upgrade to 9 then buy push as standalone. Push price...
