Re: Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!

You can always export your audio into Garageband, correct it there and export it back to Live. If you compare Melodyne against the free autotune options, you will know why the others are free  Melodyne is still the only game in town for polyphonic pitch correction and sounds so much better th...

Re: Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!

http://youtu.be/KOTZk0fD6Qs But no, in seriousness. The argument of comparing Live to GarageBand and then to Logic is just silly. Logic and GarageBand are similar in that they are both linear music production softwares with instrument and fx options. Live is similar to those yet offers the non-line...

Re: Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!

Garageband ? Live. Comparing to it is invalid. It's typically not the same people using Garageband as are using Live. There's nothing embarrassing to it at all. If you mentioned Logic's supplied auto-tune plug-in that everyone is raving about you would have a case. Maybe. How many Live users think t...

Re: Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!

Hi, Any suggestions for auto-tune plugins for Mac? Everywhere I search, it says Melodyne and Antares are the only options for Mac. Yet PCs seem to have several free options. Seems odd to me. Why does Garageband, which seems pretty "basic" or "standard" have a built-in autotune, ...

Clicking latency on input signals- any ideas why?

Hi, I am running Live Suite 9.1.5 on Mac 10.9.4. 2.6 GHz 8 GB ram When I am listening to audio signals going in, there is both a latency and a regular "dropping" of the signal. This would happen before, but after I ran Live for a bit, it seemed to "warm up" so to speak, and it wo...

Re: How can I duplicate a sample in the sound editor?

I used the "4 G chords" as an example- but here's another. Let's say I play a pattern twice. 2 takes- each take 4 bars, for a total of 8 bars, 2 measures. I'm recording into the session view. Lets say I like the first take- but I still want the whole thing to last 2 measures. So when I'm ...

Re: How can I duplicate a sample in the sound editor?

quick way of moving clips into arrange is to click on the clip, and while you hold the mousebutton down use tab to switch to arrange-vew, just drop the clip on a channel there. then do your edits, consolidate all parts (ctrl-j) into a new clip and bring it back same way to session. Once you get use...

Adding multiple kits to the drum rack.

I'd like to add multiple kits to the drum rack. Clearly, with so many octaves available in the drum rack view, there is room for many sounds. But when I drag a second kit onto the rack in a different portion of the rack, it still replaces the first rack. Also, is there any way to consolidate them? I...

Finding and Auditioning Drum Sounds

When auditioning sounds for the drum rack, I am trying to find an easy and intuitive way to find and audition sounds. Let's say I want to find a bass drum sound. If I search for bass drum sounds, it seems to me they are located in many different places rather than a central location. For instance, i...

Re: How can I duplicate a sample in the sound editor?

what you call "sample editor" is not an editor, it's called "clip view". And yes, you're right, it would be great if we would be able to edit and paste audio within this area. But we can only do non-destructive operations in clip view. This is a core-concept of Live. If you want...

Re: How can I duplicate a sample in the sound editor?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do, but if you've got a clip with 4 G chords and then 4 C chords and you just want to play 8 G chords, why don't you just select the 4 G chords and have the shortened clip play twice? You can also duplicate the clip in the same track and use the laun...
