Re: Fotosputnik album made using Live 7 Suite...

Really good stuff, wonderfully ambient and textured with traditional instruments. I'll be purchasing this weekend! Many thanks! :D There are a select few songs where we used Live's synths, etc. a lot (e.g. Action Kids, Great Northern, Saqqara, Stereominds). And Live's effects/racks are EVERYWHERE. ...

Re: Fotosputnik album made using Live 7 Suite...

What did he play in Duster? Drums? Yep. He was on of the three multi-instrumentalists that made up Duster. I think he played everything. I know Albertini played drums, too, though. Now he's in Breasts and he IS Eiafuawn. He also runs the record label The Static Cult Label (naturally), which other me...

Re: Fotosputnik album made using Live 7 Suite...

Thanks. C. Parton, formerly of Duster (and currently w/ Breasts and Eiafuawn), did all the packaging (concept, design, materials, sewing, etc.). Mad props to him. The Static Cult Label is awesome.

Fotosputnik rock album made using Live 7 Suite...

In July 2008 we were signed to The Static Cult Label. In January 2009 we finished self-recording/mixing our debut album: Fotosputnik's "Translucent Marmoset." We used Ableton Live 7 Suite, an Echo Audiofire 12, some guitars, basses, old radios and drums. Heavily influenced by krautrock ban...

Problems saving new Live Project. (Live Folder Icon)

Just upgraded to Live 8. When I click "Save as" and select "desktop" (I'm running osx 10.5, btw), it used to always create a new Ableton Project complete with the Ableton folder icon. Now when I do that it creates a project, but the folder is just a normal blue Mac folder and the...

Re: Mid-Side Recording

When I flip the phase using utility, do I highlight both Phaze Left and Phaze Right, or just one, or?

Also, how do I pan them?

Side full left, Side (-) full right, Center stays center?

Mid-Side Recording

Anyone know how to set-up (and decode) Mid-Side recording in Ableton? I just got two Cascade Fathead II figure-8 ribbon mics, and I'm trying to figure out how to recording in Mid-Side...

I generally use session view and use scene launch to start the recording. Each take occupies one scene. I get that, but then when it comes to scrubbing around the take to hear different bits, it's impossible to do since moving the location on one track won't line up with others... That's the proble...

Best way to record multiple takes?

I use Ableton as more of a "traditional" DAW to record my 3-piece band's music. We usually set up 12 tracks/mics, hit record, and hit space bar. Do you recommend doing each take in Session view and somehow moving it to arrangement when it's all done? Or recording each take after the other ...

Hm. didn't even think of that. The Echo Audiofire does have a software mixer. I didn't turn it on though. I'm not sure if it is "always on in the background" though. Not sure...

hmm hmm. I'll check it out later.

Driver Error Compensation problem

I just got a new audio interface (Echo Audiofire 12) and went to go do the Audio I/O setup procedure, and then the Driver Error Compensation liveset/lesson. However, when I route my 1/2 to my 1/2, it results in these weird waveforms: http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/qq176/fotosputnik/1.jpg When I ...
