Audio Clip Volume Shortcut
Just a small request... I use drum racks a lot, but now I'm starting to move to arranging drum samples in arrange view. There's more per-sample automation and sample editing options available this way. However, one feature that I miss from MIDI drums is the ability to Alt-drag to adjust velocity. I ...

Re: 9.0.5 finally browses some user content
Argh. The original hack I was using no longer works in 9.0.5! Deeply frustrating. I'm stuck with a lame browser again. Any browser that cannot handle sub-folders is fundamentally flawed. Even if it only indexed four folders deep, that would be enough. This just isn't a functional way to navigate whe...

Re: 9.0.5 finally browses some user content
Ahh, indeed you are correct! Foolish me. Although I am still a little disappointed that subfolder structure is not preserved, and all the samples within the 'place' are just arranged in one big list. With the original hack, I had subfolders functioning so that, for example, you might select a drum p...

Re: 9.0.5 finally browses some user content
I wish I could say the same, but my browser only seems to contain the top four standard place folders and none of the folders I've added. I've tried removing and re-adding to no avail. I wonder if this could be related to the fact that I had previously employed a Push browser hack for custom folders...

Re: two questions
I'm not sure if this is what you're after, but it does provide a good stereo widening effect that I use. Highly recommend Mr Bill's tutorials, they're spot on and I've learnt buckets from him. His music's pretty amazing too.

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!
First thing I tried. Live seems to, at least in this case, purely respond to the controller value, i.e. 127 is always 'sustain on'.artpunk wrote:Did you/have you tried the option above to reverse polarity first before you went the hardware hack option?

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!
Seeing as we're talking about pedals here... I bought two Yamaha FC-5 sustain pedals (switch-type, not continuous pedals) to use with Push. First things first, turns out the way the pedal is wired inside means that they are 'on' until pressed, which breaks the circuit. This makes them produce a 0 va...

Re: Push Chord Patterns
On the subject of learning chord patterns and by extension harmonic patterns in chromatic mode: When I first got my Push, I descended into a frenzy of knocking up chord diagrams in Excel, followed later by generating flashcards with Anki (http://ankisrs.net/ - check it out, it's brilliant open sourc...

Re: Scales in Live 9
Hi Julien or anyone else who can help me. I've been trying to use the consts.py file to add new scales to Push. Specifically, I want to add one without any scale degrees because I find the lights distracting in chromatic mode and would prefer to learn chords by shape and position. However, when usin...

Re: Push feature requests
I appreciated discovering that you could add audio and return tracks by holding the 'Add Track' button. But it seems that you can't delete return tracks at the moment. I imagine this is just an oversight? Also loving the fact that you can add effects to individual drum pads - drum sound design would...

Re: Push feature requests
Yet another feature request, sort of related. The ability to set follow actions for clips. And their quantization. So I could create a four bar drum loop, say, and then write a one bar fill in the clip above it with a follow action to use to segue into the new drum loop from another loop. Obviously ...

Re: Push feature requests
Also on the feature request list: visual feedback on the effect of the Undo key, similar to the 'Clip # Deleted' feedback. I wonder if this is possible. Basically, the same text that appears after 'Undo' in the edit menu that indicates what you would be undoing... could this be displayed on the Push...

Re: Assigning footswitch ports?
This is very odd. In 9.0.0 or possibly 9.0.1 Push would come up on the MIDI preferences page as two ports ("Ableton Push" and "Ableton Push (Port 2)". I couldn't find any use for 'Ableton Push (Port 2)' as Push seemed to work fine no matter what settings I chose for the input and...

Re: Push Secrets - aka tiny tips
I just discovered one. Stopped playback and had a hanging note, couldn't see a way to get rid of it through Push so felt like I was also left hanging... then suddenly: shift + play = stop button functionality! Pressed once to return to start, twice to kill all audio. Nice.

So it does! Brilliant! Well, that's one off the list.cyclicAMP wrote:I thought turning Loop off, gave you the option for clip start position, then set it where you want and then turn Loop on again.
