Re: Roland's new SH-101 VA (without the 1) GAIA

even from the little it was touched in the demo video at the top of the thread the filter sounds weak. Sad that after all these years they couldn't have some up with something a little more ground breaking.

Re: glitching caused by midi controllers

Hi Chris

I had some similar issues with my latest laptop to begin with and found that they were caused by the fact that my firewire and one of the usb inputs was sharing the same bus as my wireless adapter. Disabling WLAN cleared things up.

Cheers

think you'll have an awfully hard time pulling 850 for that man. Haven't seen them go for more than 450 or 500 ever I don't think...

For truly serious range and accuracy you really can't do much better than these:

Bug Report: Live Device and VST Folder Icon Disappears

Sooo, haven't nailed down this one exactly yet but one chain of events that seems to produce this bug is: -Open new project -Create MIDI track -Insert Analog -Create some new MIDI links -Delete Analog .... and the last 3 times I've tried it the icons for the Live devices and VSTs disappear to the le...

Re: I want a bad ass hardware compressor!

The Neve Portico is right at the top of your price range and is the cleanest, best sounding, most versatile compressor I've ever heard at that price point. You really can't go wrong with it.

Re: do you throw your final master onto tape?

It depends how hard you hit the tape (and how wide, how old, and what kind of tape it is... as well as the machine etc...) but generally you will get a smearing of the highs and grittier slightly more distorted low end. Some people feel it adds warmth, others would say it makes things sound muddy. I...

Re: Compressors

In my mind Live's compressor does as well if not better then any other software or affordable hardware comp out there these days. If you looking for "colour", "warmth", or any other catch phrase for expensive sounding boutique compression sounds to add to your arsenal your best b...

Re: Dub suggestions?

Asking what's the best Lee Perry dub cut or even album, to put things in the context of this forum, is a bit like asking "what's the best software for making music?" I would heavily suggest picking up David Katz's excellent People Funny Boy autobiography of Scratch and using it as a refere...

I've had the zero8 for several months now and have had a bit of a love hate relationship with it. As a controller it is second to none offering more hands on control then anything out there laid out in a fashion that will make sense to anyone with experience using a mixer. With a little bit of plann...
