Re: Apple Watch
I'm in that "black hole" range, and I do get it. I've had a Fitbit device of one model or another since they first launched (my last, the fourth device of theirs I've had, died last week). In looking at replacements, I'm leaning heavily towards a G Watch R. That means I'll have to switch f...

Re: anyone know any good VST's for bass guitar?
A bass guitar straight into your audio interface then get it going through IK Mulitmedia's Ampeg SVX VST plugin. Very nice indeed. Or as Cowlash said, Trilian, which is good or Subboombass by Rob Papen. Both good VSTi's. I bought an older Peavey Dyna Unity bass for this. Couple hundred bucks for a ...

Continuous Nightmare
Woke up this morning pondering a recurring nightmare. Threw this together while avoiding the pull of "the weekend task list."

Re: Bitwig Studio 1.2 'mind-blowing free update'
I've got more than I need. I only want a more expressive keyboard with pitch/mod/expression pedal input at the same time, and a breath controller, which has nothing to do with Ableton - apart from non-poly-aftertouch support if I'm not mistaken I have a Kurz 2500XS sitting here with two single peda...

Re: Any camera/photography aficionados here?
Years ago, my wife was hell-bent on getting a DSLR. "It's so much like my film SLR, but digital." So, I bought her a Canon 30D (solid platform) and some L-glass. She used it a lot to start, but then decided it was too bulky for most of her use cases and said she needed a P&S. I bought ...

I'm not sure why you'd want to listen to it (it's the dog's breakfast, I tell you), but sure:re:dream wrote:

It's the only thing I've ever uploaded to bandcamp, so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Re: Blocked on SoundCloud??!
I did a cover of Imagine (by John Lennon) using an mp3 backing track for everything but bass (which I *played*). It's dumb and goofy, but I did it and I think it came out pretty dang good. Now, I uploaded it to my SoundCloud account for shits and giggles and it was immediately flagged as a violation...

Re: New Sonar gone monthly subscription. Might Ableton go same?
i would sell ableton instantly if they would take the subscription route In the old thread on this topic, I said almost the same thing. I'd just stick with the version I have at the point they go subscription based if it is the same as Adobe's model (you can use it only as long as you're paying for...

Re: Per month and per year subscriptions for ableton
Anyway, it's a real popular idea, so Ableton is sure to implement it. Logical fallacy, but anyway...if Ableton goes to the Adobe CC pay-per-month-per-module model, I will go back to using Sonar full-time or switch to Cubase (even with the stupid dongle, now that I have one). If users can't afford t...

Re: Best "DRUMMER" plugins & ways to get live drummer beats
I picked up Steinberg's Groove Agent 4 a month or so back. It has a built in 'complexity' algorithm that adds, well, complexity to the MIDI tracks it's playing back. It's actually pretty cool...although I am not a fan of the stupid USB dongle.

Re: cannot get guitar into Live
If the monitoring button is on "Off" or "Auto" change it to "In", see if that makes a difference. I know with my Saffire Pro 40 I had to click the pad button for the input I was using (on the audio interface) and inside of Live manually set monitoring to "In" ...

One M4L LFO MIDI -> Multiple Targets?
I have a track with an instance of Operator (and a bunch of other stuff) creating background drones. I'm modulating the Level on each of the oscillators in Operator using multiple LFO MIDI plugins. The thing is, all of the LFO MIDI settings are identical, so three of them are (in my mind) redundant ...

Triggering Cataract
I picked up Glitchmachines Cataract to play around with; seems pretty neat and I've got it setup right now so it sits nicely in a track I'm making. The problem I'm having is that (in Session view), triggering any other clip also triggers Cataract. How in the heck do I not have it synced to the audio...

Believe in Yourself
Actually, made it about a year ago on my old iPad. Today, however, I pulled the .wav in to Ableton and screwed with some envelopes and ran it through Ozone. So, technically a track for September.
