Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
YYYYYYYYIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I've finally worked out the issue. I suspected this earlier but didn't follow it through properly. Bloody spotlight and the fricking indexing. I noticed today that even though I installed the drive a week ago or more the index bar was at like 10-20%. Its not mov...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
Cant find the options.txt file????
in the lib/pref/ableton folder is live 9.2.3 folder and a load of Live 10.0.1 all the way to 10.0.6
Inside those is
index.txt
library.cfg
log.txt
preferences.cfg
undo folder
user remote scripts folder
wc.log
web connector.txt
That's it. Same in every folder

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
Quick update. Total re-install done. Tested with live 9. Still much much worse than with the old HDD. Live 10 pretty much unusable. So, does this mean there is a problem with the brand new Samsung SSD drive??? I just don't get how a brand new ssd drive can make Ableton perform much worse than a 6 ye...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
I’m doing a total re-install. It’s the only way to make sure the issue is not with the drive. Out of interest if any one is running 10. What’s your cpu at when you run the demo track that comes with it. I’m at 25% and stable after the reinstall. I’ve only got 8g of ram. See what it’s like once I’ve ...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
All plugins are waves stuff or native instruments. My no software is showing all okay in native access. Waves fine two. Maschine software works fine with plugins galore. It’s just Ableton. Maybe I just bite the bullet an clean reinstall. I’m afraid I’ll throw the machine out of the window though if ...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade
Its a Samsung but not sure which model. I'd have to take the machine apart to look. Unless I can check on ABOUT THIS MAC. I wouldn't know where to start with firmware. Any tips? Guess I should run some kind of disk diagnostics software. I was hoping it was something obvious like moving some folders ...

CPU overload after SSD upgrade
So I have 2012 I& MacBook 8gb ram running Movave and Ableton 9. I was finding projects we taking a long time to load up when opening them especially if there was a lot of plug ins. So I decided to swap the drive out for a Samsung SSD. So did a Carbon copy clone. Installed the new drive. Bingo. S...
