Re: How does buffer size affect resampling?
I was using sound libraries so there shouldn't have been any discrepancies. I ran it one more time this morning and everything was null. Weird anomaly or I screwed up somewhere. Anyway thanks for trying to help, I think I made both of us dumber in the process. Does buffer size matter in any resampli...

Re: How does buffer size affect resampling?
Well I'm saying I'm sure that they are not identical because they aren't null. I thought they would be identical. No effects added. Just to be clear I resampled MIDI to audio track, not rendered mixdown or freeze track. I just tried it with Operator and the same result. If time sync was an issue the...

How does buffer size affect resampling?
I was under the impression that buffer size was irrelevant when resampling. I just ran a null test at 48 samples VS. 2048 samples. Big difference, and most audible during note transients. Any knowledge on this?

Re: That enough, dear Ableton Team. I wanna know.
It's a bizarre company. Session View and Max for Live are a dream yet they just implemented automation curves in 2013 when Cool Edit Pro allowed perfect S-curves back in 1998.

Re: Why is delay compensation total ass?
Thanks for the response. It says send~/receive~ *between devices* is not supported, not send~/receive~ altogether. I was using them within the same device to keep things clean. I hadn't heard of plugsync before. It seems to do the same thing as transport but without the need for a metro to get it go...

Re: Why is delay compensation total ass?
Just an update if anybody else faces the same problem. The "wireless signal" send~/receive~ objects are pretty problematic. I thought I remember reading in the documentation that they add a 1 sample delay (a small fraction of 1 ms), but I've observed as much as 22 ms delay. Also the left a...

Why is delay compensation total ass?
I built a patch in Max for Live and tested it on the same input a bunch of times and the recorded output ranged anywhere from 4 ms to 22 ms late. I can live with a few ms but 22 pretty much makes a sidechain compressor useless. Why is the delay different every time, and is there any way to fix this?...

Re: Send patch
No, External Audio Effect routes in audio from hardware. We are talking about routing audio into a Max for Live patch from a track that is different from the track that the patch was inserted on (sidechain).

Re: Send patch
There is an easy workaround. Hook up a dropfile object to an sfplay object. Link the sfplay object to Live's transport so when you press play in Live the sfplay object will start playing. Drag the clip that would have been the sidechain input into the dropfile box and there you have it. It's just as...

64-bit pitch detection objects
Are there any? I know analyzer~ and pitch~ will be updated to 64 soon but I just started using Max and no working pitch detection is a huge buzz kill on a lot of the patch ideas I had.

Freeze vs. Resample null test
I ran a null test comparing a MIDI clip playing in realtime against its bounced audio using the freeze/flatten method. I then ran this test again but resampled instead of freeze/flatten. The resampled version was perfectly null with MIDI realtime (24 bit file). The freeze/flat wasn't even close, and...

Re: Official Release More Crashy than the Beta?
I'm batting a very high crash rate when I try to freeze tracks. It's more likely to happen on tracks with more than 1 clip in the session view. Based on percentages at the time of crash, it seems like it gets stuck between clips (e.g. if there are 2 clips it will crash at 50%). Jbridged plugs are th...
