Yes. IMO there are no winners there. It could start a litigation ball rolling amongst DAW devs and even Plugin devs ...

IIRC there are actually two junior programmers from Ableton who are involved with Bitwig, while the Ableton staff has grown in the last couple of years from around 100 people to 130... including a pretty ...

Might be. Maybe Ableton needed time to replace the devs that left. Clearly they had the capability to build a daw from scratch and perhaps formed the core of the dev application team at Ableton (or at least ...

I think BW Studio is a very interesting development. I would say there is probably a big enough market for BWS and Ableton Live to co - exist and do well.

Analogy - I can do vector graphics in Photoshop and bitmap work in Illustrator, but I don't. I use each of them for what they're good at.
As someone who has a day job at a prepress company, I can identify with that. Great analogy.

Live 4 was released on the 24th of July but announced on the 4th of June.

i have been a long time CUbase user and on the cubase.net forum since 2001. after all the time spent there, i can say there are MANY, angry, mad, users, and a LONG bug list that is getting longer everyday.

they have many features dont work as expected, are missing, broken, etc, etc...(not bashing ...

Ableton...anyone...? Will all the VST and VSTi plugs that ship with Live 4 be optimized for use without the need for PDC?

If so that would be a great way to avoid the PDC issue altogether.
