Re: multiple m4l expression plugins and polyphonic aftertouch?

ableton if you're reading, let me reiterate: we dont need to automate it, we just need to access it. Stop filtering poly aftertouch. +1 ... please! just giving us access would blow open the number of M4L devices that could be used with push. currently, its impossible because although you can grab c...

Re: How to stop Push light feedback from other midi controllers?

if i remember right, push sends midi notes out starting on channel 6 and uses the next channel for each column of pads. i.e. 2nd column of pads is channel 7, etc.. i'm assuming they respond to the same notes that they send too (although I can't test that just right now) so you could try making sure ...

Re: Why can't we have lights and screen use in user mode?

you can make the pads light up when in user mode by sending them midi notes. use the same note that the pad sends out and velocity controls the color. alternatively, you can use flocked's push developer kit for M4L to grab control of push's different physical controls and send them color information...

Re: How to use Push drum rack mode with Maschine vst

i like the thinking of using maschine as a hardware specific for one plugin ala Geist or Guru. I haven't thought of it like that... I guess because I always make my own kits, picking each sample individually. So all I do is browse the maschine library and drop onto a drum rack. I see your point abou...

Re: How to use Push drum rack mode with Maschine vst

Here are some examples of what Live cannot do compared equivalent features in Maschine, especially in the context of Push: i agree with all of those examples you make. i was referring to using maschine specifically for a drum rack only. i understand the different limitations in general, but it seem...

Re: How to use Push drum rack mode with Maschine vst

i own maschine and push and this is probably a dumb question, but why do you guys like to use maschine in ableton like this? to me, maschine is just a sampler - and a very good one at that. but i haven't come across something that i can do in maschine that i can't do in ableton drum racks. i used to...

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

greaterthanzero - i can confirm this problem. it seems that after grabbing control of the touchstrip and then releasing control of the touchstrip, it no longer puts out pitch bend information until the M4L device is deleted.

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

coleb: Are you sure that you get a lag? Is it only if you have the max editor open (which makes all push objects much slower) or general? yes the lag seems to happen even when the max editor is closed. i can easily see the lag by playing a drum rack using the push_grid object and then playing the s...

Re: How to use Push in User Mode? How to map MIDI manually?

so i figured out that my internal midi bus was somehow feeding back random midi data into live and causing that erratic behavior, very weird and i don't have anything routed to or from my IAC bus, it was just on in the background. i found the best CC modes too.

Re: How to use Push in User Mode? How to map MIDI manually?

i've never noticed the mode before when mappings the push's rotary knobs in user mode. i'm seeing this weird behavior after mapping a control to one of the knobs in user mode: the control starts to move around on its own, even though live isn't receiving any midi data. it only does it when on a mode...

Re: Set up Push to exactly mimic note layout of Launchpad?

you could make a M4L patch, but if you don't want to do that, you can make a midi rack full of transpose midi effects. for each note that push puts out (make sure that you're always in the same scale and key on push), just transpose it the right amount of steps to get it to put out the note that the...

Re: Push's Live Port?

i looked into this a little more and it seems that each column of push's pads use a different midi channel when in note mode for an instrument. this first column sends on ch 6, second on ch 7, ... , last column on ch 13. channel 1 is used for aftertouch data when playing any note in any column. so y...
