Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live

Live 9.0.6 currently kernel panics my machine if I try to export audio (though strangely, internal recording appears to work). Unfortunately, I can't be sure if this is an issue with Mavericks or with my new laptop. Either way, the 9.1 beta fixes it, so I'm in good shape. No other issues that I've f...

Re: upgrade my live 8 library to live9

Yeah. I've not been looking forward to manually shuffling things around to do some cleanup when I'm bored, but there's worse things. It does seem like they're finally moving to a better/more flexible way of doing things that means this sort of thing won't be necessary once it's been done this last t...

Nice work! I half-implemented a letter page myself, but never finished it, nevermind all this other stuff!

Re: DJing with WAV's or MP3's??

A few things: 1) Um... Why not just let Ableton decode stuff again? The cache is just a cache. It's meant to hold things temporarily by nature. In fact, if your cache hits the configured limit, or you run out of disk space, it will start deleting stuff as it can to make room things you need right no...

Re: Making the switch to logic

(can only buy it from the Apple store as far as I can tell) This is very much not the case. When I've bought Logic Express, Logic Studio and then Logic 9 over the last few years, I've bought from Amazon every time. I know I've seen the boxes for it at pretty much any music store that sells a lot of...

Re: Is 8.1.3 backwards compatible?

that the mix or some plug in settings get lost is not the main concern when you open a future file with your old version as long you still can access the musical content... If you're not concerned about the mix, or plugin settings, etc. can't you just save MIDI clips out and dump all audio to stems...

Re: Is 8.1.3 backwards compatible?

I like wiki.. but it is patchwork in progress.. and there are defently some wrong articles . . Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't saying it should be taken as gospel always and forever or anything. But it's (usually) better than nothing if the article's well-formed. In w...

no..you are all stupid fanboys.. his own wikipedia link disprooves him.. "Data does nothing in the absence of an interpreter, so the notion of compatibility does not apply to document files, it only applies to software. In the case of a program that creates document files, a new version of tha...

Re: Is 8.1.3 backwards compatible?

confusing the terms? i would say that backwards compatible means that i can safe a projekt in the actual version and open it with an older one..or that i can save in a previous file format.. You have it backwards and Wikipedia Pete agrees with me . Backwards compatibility = new versions of software...

Re: Is 8.1.3 backwards compatible?

Yes it is. but not forward... that means you can open projects made with previous versions on 8.1.3 BUT you cannot open projects made with 8.1.3 on future releases i.e.: 8.2 UNLESS Ableton specify that 'yes you can' on the download section.... I'm assuming you typo'd at the end there, otherwise thi...
