What you need is a mpd218 from akai, forget about maschine and definitely forget about the mpc. Why go for an extra box or controller with software that messes up your current workflow? I have the same setup and never use the USB mode, indeed too much latency. When I run the TR-8 thu midi and back into my Ultralite the only thing I had to adjust is midi clock out delay compensation to -60ms to sync it nicely. I've been using it for years to run a 100+ channel live set with a lot of plugins and it works perfectly.

Had some trouble when I replaced the battery with a cheap alternative but all is fine again using an original battery.
