Re: Edit waveforms by drawing
I'd love this feature is well. It's 2022. Pro Tools was able to do this in the 90s if I remember correctly.

Re: Attenuating the master track
Thanks. Unfortunately I've always got volume automation so doing the select-all thing doesn't work for me. I guess it would be better if I used the Utility plug-in to automate volume instead.

Attenuating the master track
Maybe a dumb question but when all the tracks are too loud, is it just as well to turn down the master track volume as it is to turn down the individual tracks? (it's obviously much easier to turn down the master, especially when there's volume automation and various effects buses mixed in.) And ...

Falsetto vocal mics/mixing
Hi. I'm trying to figure out the best way that I can record and mix falsetto vocals (rap) for optimum audibility. I recorded an album a couple years ago, and I found it pretty difficult to make the vocals sit right in the mix and still be audible, especially when the rapping is fast. Here's an ...

Re: synth question
Oh, cool! So this synth in particular, Live's built-in Simpler>Synth Lead>Ring Modular, doesn't have a legato option, right, and there's no way I can get that effect with it?

Re: synth question
Awesome - thank you! That solves my problem pretty much. On a related note though, when a synth is in single voice mode and glide is set to off or portamento, and you hold down a note, then press and unpress a second note, the first note no longer plays. But if it's in glide mode then the first note ...

synth question
Sometimes synths have a loud attack/volume but then if you play another note while the first note is still being held, even with just a tiny bit of overlap, that second note is way quieter/has a different tone. I'm wondering if it's something that can be adjusted in the synth parameters or elsewhere ...

Re: Synth latency
Update... I also tried removing the LiveGrabber plug-ins at the same time as every other non-standard thing besides VDMX with a few effects on a still image. Basically running nothing else besides VDMX but a very basic, stock Ableton set.

Re: Synth latency
Quitting Junxion has no noticeable effect. Changing the buffer/sampling rate has no noticeable effect. The erratic MIDI latency also seems to coincide with choppy video output. Removing video effect plug-ins solves the problem. But I need those effects. VDMX is barely doing anything - just running ...

Not when using a minus value
Especially then. Because there can be no events taking place before 1.1.1. So all other tracks are delayed ! OK? Think about and then make some tests. Since I did I abandoned Track Delay .
You're likely thinking about hardware latency adjustment, like in External ...

Re: Synth latency
if latency is a problem, then raising your buffer size and lowering your sample rate are exactly the opposite of what you want to do. both actions reduce CPU usage, at the cost of increased latency.
in contrast, lowering your buffer size and/or increasing your sample rate make your computer work ...

Synth latency
I've been developing a Live set on my Macbook Pro, which performs fine, but now that I'm trying to use VJ software, VDMX5, with it I'm getting some issues. When I stack enough effects plug-ins onto VDMX5 and I'm trying to play a Live synth, I'm experiencing some erratic latency of the synth notes ...

Macbook multi-channel audio routing
I'm trying to output two different mixes of a live session, one going to the outboard speakers, another going into a video program (VDMX5). The only way I've figured out to output two different mixes is by using my interface (Focusrite Thunderbolt), so I've got the main output going out on channels ...

Re: Is there a way to lower the volume of certain synth notes?
Thanks a lot Nokatus. The particular synth I'm dealing with at the moment is Ableton's built-in "FM Koto", part of the Operator synths. I'm not familiar with a keyboard scaling modulator, or velocity scaling, not sure what those would look like, but it doesn't seem like it has anything like that ...

Is there a way to lower the volume of certain synth notes?
When I'm playing some synths live, the higher notes are significantly louder. Is there a way I can make them quieter? I suppose I could use a multiband compressor but that seems a bit clunky and will probably require a fair amount of extra processing power which I don't have much of.
