Re: FAILSAFE backing up advice

looks like Arq isn't set up for windows quite yet. (i am using windows)
when you say the caveat of backblaze is "have to be prepared" not sure what you mean by that. i don't mind a little work at end of session.

Re: FAILSAFE backing up advice

thanks for tip on backblaze. i had a well known back up service (carbonite) only to find out that they don't back up all the files in a folder you have set for backup. after speaking with their tech people they confirmed that they don't back up files that you update to. say i have a track/project i ...

FAILSAFE backing up advice

had a computer crash years ago that put the fear into me. getting along in years on SSD and wondering if i am backing up all that needs to be. if i haven't changed anything from the way live would store things by default. if i back up the "ableton" folder on my hard drive am i getting everything tha...

ableton live 9 with avid eleven rack sp ed

seriously considering getting a avid eleven rack due to a price drop and wondered if any one had any issues using it with ableton live. it says plug and play with pro tools and was curious if there were any issues with using it with ableton. any info or experience with using it would be much appreci...

Re: BACKING UP to 3rd party ie: Carbonite

hi, yes, i can do that to individual files/projects but i have carbonite set up for daily automatic backup's. sometimes i work on 20 projects in one day. i am trying to find a way for this to be done automatically and not to individually create new files constantly. just thought there was a way to h...

BACKING UP to 3rd party ie: Carbonite

so i had a backup system with a company that went out of home use biz and i transferred over to CARBONITE cause of a deal i was offered. only to find out that for some reason it won't back up my ableton project files. we went through troubleshooting to find that for some reason ableton project ALS f...

Re: How Long Did it Take?

i came to live from nothing (other than archaic tape recorders). if you come in fresh like that you don't have to unlearn things or get caught up in the "what's missing" black hole. made it much easier i suspect.
good luck.

Re: Upgrading whole HD to SSD? Expected performance improve?

by far one of the best upgrades i have ever done. the speed in loading is amazing compared to regular hard drive. don't even think about it (other than logistics of course) do it.

Re: 32 bit vs. 64 bit

thanks for quick reply. so if i download the 64 live suite anything like max for live that comes with it that isn't a pack will be 64 too i would assume. and then the extra packs i would not have to download again i would just link that folder to the 64 version of live. and one other question. if i ...

32 bit vs. 64 bit

so have been using live 9.7.1 suite for years and when i first got it i went with 32 bit and have had no issues but i am interested in upgrading my superior drummer 2 to the new 3 and 3 only comes in 64 so looks like i will have to go with 64 on ableton since it requires hosts to be 64 also. the onl...

Re: live10, native lfo, ios vs android, ableton vs bitwig

revolver was done on a four track recorder i believe. archaic compared to what even reaper gives you. sometimes creativity comes from things you can't do. i have grown to love live for not only what it affords me the luxury of doing but what it forces me to do out of compromise. necessity is the mot...

Re: ABLETON LIVE 9 recognizing Korg Kronos

sadly turning on the kronos and interface and then booting up computer and loading ableton did nothing to alleviate the problem.

would love any other suggestions anyone has. this is getting very old and time consuming to say the least. thanks.

ABLETON LIVE 9 recognizing Korg Kronos

so this is something that has been driving me nuts for the last year or so. i use a korg kronos with ableton live 9 through a focusrite interface. i have the midi going into my pc via usb from korg with windows 10 and then the audio outs of the korg through my interface and monitored through cans. w...
