Tom, You probably already know this, but I believe a solution would be to flatten, then manually highlight and delete the empty space, click on the remaining audio clip, consolidate so Live seperates it from the flattened file, then file manage and delete unused freezed/flattened samples. I'm not si...

Figured it out. Just in case anyone else has the same problem in the future...

Go into Live's Preferences -> MIDI, make sure you have REMOTE set to ON.

That's it. Heh.

padKontrol question...

I've been messing around with my padKontrol for a while, and have been searching all over the place for an answer to this, including the manual. Is there an easy way I can open midi mapping in Live, click on filter frequency of the VST, and turn the knob and assign it to control that frequency? I've...

They are all awesome in their own way. My favorites of all time would have to be Ok Computer, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows, and The Bends. The Bends is pre-electronic for them, but it has some of the most amazing songs on it. Ok Computer was a perfect mix of guitar, song writing and electronics, w...

I have a Toshiba Satellite Duo T5200 @1.60GHz, 2 GB RAM. I run Live with Reason 4 all the time with 30+ tracks and have never heard one audio glitch. My Dell Inspiron however, was a piece of shit. Amazingly fast computer at the time, but I had to take it out of ACPI mode and run it in standard. It w...

Ok... so I'm trying to order Live 7.

I got everything in order for my educational discount, and I tried to email Ableton today to order Live 7. First I sent my email to customercare@ableton.com, and I received this after a few minutes. The leads were really catchy, tasteful harmonies were everywhere, and the pulsing synth that sort of carries the song has a really full, warm tone. I could easily list more good things. I love it. You did a really great job. The only constructive criticism I can think of is that it may end a bit abr...

My first attempt at remixing

Hey, I remixed a couple songs from friends bands and put them up on myspace. I'd really like some constructive criticism. These are entirely done with Live and Reason.

Thanks!

I just listened on my laptop speakers... but it seemed like the compressor was pumping a little hard in the "straight up now tell me" part... I personally found the repetition of "straight up now tell, straight up now tell, straight up now tell" (before the real chorus) to be a b...

As an owner of Reason 4 and Live 6, I am interested in the answer to this question as well.

My guess is the stability and nativeness are the main advantages of using Live's synths, but Reason is amazingly stable anyways.

Laird - Thanks. Yeah, my friend always bitches about how sequencers don't line up properly. And it really doesn't make sense. 120 BPM should be 120 BPM no matter where you play it, ya know? So any tips on making it easier? I usually go in and do it one warp marker at a time, each phrase at a time, s...

No, that's the weird thing... both bands that I have remixed for DO record to click tracks... but they still don't line up. I don't really understand it.

Any other ideas?

Warping Vocal Tracks

Hey, I've been doing some remixes for a few friends bands. Live has been doing an outstanding job helping me bang them out and everything sounds great. My biggest hang up has been with the vocals though. For some of the remixes, I use the unedited vocal tracks and just make my own music to go around...
