Re: Groups within groups
you can use groups and then route those groups to sends. it's not exactly what you're asking for but it's kind of exactly what you're asking for. Not at all. How does that help me launch two Groups on a Scene at once without launching the other Clips or Groups on that Scene? Sounds like you may be ...

Add ability to name Grouped Scenes in Session View
Need the ability to name Grouped Scenes in Session View. It's hard to remember what's in a Group when it's collapsed, so you gotta click it open to remind yourself, then close it to save real estate.

Re: Group automation
Well that's interesting -- you can automate Groups in Arrangement View, but not in Session View: http://imgur.com/F6KCzOx.png So I s'pose the feature request is to add this capability to Session View. Dummy Clips for each Scene would seem the logical way to do this. Note that this appears to work wh...

Group automation
We can add Audio Effects to Groups in Session View, which is great, but where is my Envelope icon? We can't automate Group effects, including Mixer effects (track volume, panning, etc.)?? Very strange.

Groups within groups
We need the ability to nest groups within groups. For example, in Session View, I want to group all my drums/percussion together as DRUM group, then my bass & rhythm guitar as BASS/RHYTHM group. That gives me the flexibility to start up a new bassline + rhythm guitar without changing the drums/p...

Re: Microtuning, Just Intonation and Project-Wide Master Tuning
Another request for microtuning. I'd be satisfied with importing Scala files + a global base frequency adjustment. Or you could add a drop-down to the Scale MIDI Effect and a knob to adjust base frequency. Honestly, this lack of functionality is almost enough to make me abandon Live. There are VSTs ...

Here are Scala files for Pythagorean tuning (for A432Hz)
Couldn't find em anywhere, so I made my own: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ssek8imv7oixs3s/scalesPythagorean.zip Works with any VST that imports Scala SCL files. Note that this is just the Pythagorean scale -- if you want it based in the natural 432Hz, you'll need to adjust the VST's tuning. (Ea...

That looks killer. Even takes Scala files if I want to play with weird scales.garyboozy wrote:Madrona Labs Aalto

VST recommendation for specifying frequencies
I've got an itch to play with experimental music (think deep house, but different tones and time signatures) where I need to control the frequency of the synth to the hertz. Operator does it, but it's a bit boring. I've never played with VSTs before, so this will be a first. Looking for a recommenda...

Re: world music scales + alternate tuning scales + microtonal??
Ableton really makes this a pain to do, when it should be an adjustable global reference pitch setting (A=440Hz by default) and a Scale MIDI effect. I tried a few plug-ins, but I ended up just pitch shifting each track to the desired Hz, using the Tuner Audio Effect to check -- but I'm working with ...

Re: Ableton + push + DJM: BPM match but is out of sync
You ever find a solution for this? Or did you give up? Are you using the USB output on the DJM? Or the MIDI port? My guess is you'll have to bail on the MIDI sync and nudge-sync Ableton manually.. probably re-nudge it every few minutes as they drift. I want to try the same thing (Pioneer DJM-2000 mi...

Changing a song from 4/4 timing to 7/8 timing
Suppose I have a song in 4/4 timing that I want to change to 7/8 timing. I want to, as a batch process, delete the last 1/8th of each measure, then switch the time signature from 4/4 to 7/8 and remove the empty space. Now I can do this all manually, but I'm wondering if there's a convenient way to d...

Aha! Thanks, been beating my head on this a while.yur2die4 wrote:In Suite you can use Operator.
Turn on 'fixed' and you can set the frequency.
You can check the results using either Tuner or spectrum/EQ8.
