Ableton Live hanging randomly and not coming back

Hi,
I'm having more and more often difficulty with Ableton's Live completely hanging, process not responding, and when this happens, it doesn't come back. Nothing works, no keyboard shortcut. If I insist enough, Windows pops up the dialog box telling me the process is not responding and I can either ...

Re: Will Live ever get "Sandbox for Plugins" feature?

Unfortunately, I suspect this would require a major rearch on Ableton's side. The only way to sandbox VST so if one crashes, the whole DAW doesn't crash, is to run each VST in a separate process and have inter-process communication between the VST and the DAW. That would cause scalability issues for ...

Re: Live's remote scripting Python API

I'm also interested in an API that would control Live, but something official, documented, that has chances to persist across present and future versions of Live. It could be a COM API, some SDK in C/C++, no matter, given it is not something that was hacked/reversed engineered/partially documented ...

Re: Very inefficient user interface

That means I will have to tweak keyboard shortcuts, save a dummy project and then, each time I start something, think about opening the dummy project and not forget to SAVE AS a new name. Ok, that's better than redefining the shortcuts every time from scratch but would be better if these settings ...

Re: Very inefficient user interface

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I am using Windows 10 on a 1080p monitor (not Retina, not 4K, I will stay away from 4K until everything is high DPI aware). Being visually impaired causes me a lot of issues with Live. As I wrote, I tried the Live's zoom, it worked relatively well at start, but it makes ...

Very inefficient user interface

Hi,

I am trying to use Ableton's Live since a couple of months, without real success. Most important problem is inefficiency. Everything is so small I have trouble seeing the screen and trying to magnify just makes some part of the screen inaccessible, no way to scroll through. I tried using the ...

Too small font and too many non-working settings

Hi,

I am trying to do something basic in Live and this is just too hard. Fonts are too small and nothing I thought about can solve the issue. If I enable DPI scaling for Live, it screws up mouse interaction, making the controls unusable. If I set up the zoom to more than 100%, I have to constantly ...

Re: Ableton and Windows 8

Hi,

Switching from Windows 7 to Windows 8 was smooth. Startup time is a bit faster, task manager is better organized and the Explorer now has a ribbon like in MS Office 2007+. Metro is pretty useless in my opinion, but at least it is easy and quick to get out of it. There is nothing especially ...

Mouse wheel not working, Ableton Live 9, even for wired mous

Hi,

I saw two different posts about wireless mouse wheels not working, wanted to contribute, but the posts are locked for me. Same problem happens with a Microsoft wired mouse, Comfort 3000 or something (model name not written on mouse and no way I can find back the box, sorry, and no time to ...
