issue seems to be fixed in 9.1 !

not sure why it wasnt mentioned...
last email was Ableton suggested to speak to Novation and Novation then took the matter to Ableton themselves.

who was at fault is a mystery...

Which, BTW, I had Novation able to recreate that issue via email support and forward it to Ableton.

Try to give both parties a shout, took about 2 business weeks to get my point across them ...

Hey all.

Opened email tickets with both Novation and Ableton this week.

Novation : all they make sure is that your LPS is sending MIDI data via software like MIDI-OX. They said it is not a hardware fault, but software.

Ableton : thus far they have it narrowed down to something to do with ...

I plan to get the LaunchControl myself to match my LaunchPad S.

If you don't already know, the LPS does not have velocity or pressure sensitive pads.

Really? Works fine without them here; Windows7 x64.
I believe you need the drivers if you intend to operate multiple LPs or multiple programs at a time.

I opened a ticket with Novation, we'll see if they get back.

But at this point it seems its a Live9 bug. Like the control surface boot priority gets scrambled when loading the template set.

1. Open Live9.
-Guide box flickers/turns off, LPS unresponsive.
2. File->New Live Set [or Ctrl+N]->LPS ...

I have to chime in on this also.

Sometimes at startup, the yellow Launchpad guide in Live (9.0.5) will appear, flicker, and just not come up at all. :?

Opening a project or restarting Live sometimes works, but fails 95% of the time.
