Should I compress more or adjust volume?
I am fairly new to production, about 5 months now, but I still have a lot to learn. I understand that compression is used to help competing frequencies to be distinguished, however, I was wondering would it be in best practice to compress the audio sound to lower or actually adjust the volume of the...

Creating output tracks for drum rack while using Battery 4
Hello, I managed to load the plugin on a separate track and creating a drum rack track. On the Drum rack I used an external instrument for each drum and set the MIDI To Battery 4. I noticed that all of the sound is coming through the VST track I created. I was hoping to create each drum into a separ...

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
Izotope Trash 2 is far and away the best distortion plug in I have used. that`s what i wanted to say! definitely the number one. you might not recognize it at first sight but when you go deeper you will realize Oof...that plugin goes in for about 250 bucks. Kinda breaks the bank a little bit haha

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
Ill try out the studio devil and see if that plugin will benefit me more for the cost. If not I will probably invest in that mini line 6 pod for something simple yet effective.
How would I use guitarpro in this instance?del64 wrote:e, then you have everything thing

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
i haven't used anything like the line6 pods in several years, but i've never really liked the digital distortions on any of them. i have several distortion pedals that i use for effects within my DAW (keep in mind you need something like a reamp or a passive DI to covert the line level signals from...

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
How would I manage to use the plugins? ( like I said...pretty new here haha) I was also looking at pedals. Do you all think this is a decent one for the price? http://www.amazon.com/Line-6-99-060-0905-FloorPOD-Plus/dp/B000N3458W/ref=sr_1_4?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1372343953&sr=...

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
Unfortunately I know this fender isnt the best or at least my style, it was a christmas gift like 6 years ago. I finally graduated college and have a decent job so I can put some money towards a better pedal or something. I have never been very knowledgeable about equipment since I always just took ...

Re: Trying to find that perfect distortion
I am basically into that high-gain sound but also have a strong bass sound. I guess a good example would be how August Burns Red guitars sound. Every time I attempt to create that with my amp (which I use since I cant find my pedals -.- ) I get a ton of noise and it doesn't sound right. edit: I have...

Hello, Im new to Ableton and my Scarlet 2i2, but I am picking up rather quickly on learning (here is a sample of my work after about 3 weeks of learning https://soundcloud.com/delaney64/adrift-in-the-fog ) These effects are nice but I am more of a metal / thrash type of person. I have had some diff...
