Re: My library is not showing, folder isn't found
Might be a long shot in your case, but have you tried THIS ?
It's worked for me the couple of times I've had disappeared data.
If you are using Live 9, you don't have a Live 8 library. Mine, for instance is "not set."
You can keep you user library wherever you wish. For packs, I have always kept ...

Re: Plugins In Live? WTF?
I've literally never had this issue with Live that wasn't a user error. I structure with a folder named "VST" right on C, which splits into 32 and 64 bit folders (mostly because some VSTs force the user to install both). The "VST" folder is the folder I tell ABE to scan.

Re: New Desk Studio Furniture is expensive!!!
hey jestermgee,
what do you have push sitting on up there? that's a nice tilt. nice setup overall too!
on topic, studio furniture is indeed ridiculously expensive. I'm lucky enough to have picked up a super solid old office table with a metal frame and metal legs. it's heavy, sturdy, and best of ...

Re: losing time
Make double sure your clip lengths are exactly right on. This might sound dumb/obvious, but it's bitten me a couple of times to where I thought I was losing my mind. Especially on longer, live-played clips. It's hard to see it on the grid, and if the clip is slightly long, the last number will still ...

Re: Quiet but good fidelity monitors
If you really want small, check out the Audioengine A2+ . They are slightly above your stated budget, and they aren't marketed as "reference" monitors, but they sound great, especially at low volumes. I have two pairs--one for general listening in one room, and one in the music area so that I can ...

Re: Anyone using Focal Alpha monitors?
I have the 50s, and I love them. Most of my experience is with the old Event 20/20s and various sizes of KRK Rockits, but the Focals are nothing short of amazing to me. I don't have a large room, so the 50s work great--clean and clear across the whole spectrum, loud, plenty of readable bass and ...

Re: Does Ableton not care about Windows users?
I always thought companies as ADK are a rip off, kind of the Apple bussiness model adapted to windows.
In what way? ADK builds custom PCs based on a user's specific needs out of components they have tested that are known to work well together. Apple does that?
Not being dicky, I just don't see ...

Re: Does Ableton not care about Windows users?
Do you have problems even on basic projects WITHOUT M4L? I ask because, for the most part, I gave up on M4L. Seems like every time I have a problem with a project that cannot be explained, it's a project that uses Max.
Also, pardon my ignorance, but having two on-board HDs shouldn't be much ...

Have you checked out Blend io? That should keep you busy pretty much forever.

And then there's the stuff that comes through Beatport Play--remix contests, essentially.

Re: Crash Course on Quitting Maschine?
Yeah, the last thing I'd want to do is complicate things unnecessarily.
The licenses are definitely separate, so that shouldn't be an issue. I am assuming the uninstall should go nominally, without negatively affecting other NI libraries (yes?).

Crash Course on Quitting Maschine?
I'm considering selling Maschine (MK2) and the few expansion packs I have. I know some of you have been through this, and I've never really sold/transferred software products before. I know I could find the technical info through NI. I'm looking for any "gotchas" I might need to look out for, either ...

Re: Recovering a project with crashing M4L
So, I reinstalled M4L and viewed the ALS file with Live's browser. I'm pretty new to all of this, so please bear with me here. It doesn't show group tracks (which I'm guessing is normal), so effects used on groups cannot be accounted for.
With this said, I was able to bring each track into Live ...
